Blog Welcome to Lustria Park! Zheddikus' Paint Blog.

Hello all! I have been very busy for the last two months with real life, and the holiday season. But I am back! I got a of models for Christmas this year.

I haven't painted anything yet. Since it has been so cold were I live, so I need to go to someplace to undercoat all the new stuff!

Momma says he's ornery because he has all them teeth and no toothbrush. So I gave him one to stay not ornery.

Looks like somebody had a pretty good Christmas!

I'm in need of a finecast kroak probably gonna sell my metal ones for it :)

I like the finecast Kroak. I got lucky with him. No bubbles, no imperfections. I heard you were consolidating! Good luck!

I did! The little guys all came from various family members and my girlfriend got me the Dread! It just came in today(manly tears were shed on opening.) and I put him together right away. I am waiting for tomorrow to fill in all of the gaps.

Nice Christmas haul! Good luck painting, especially Lord Kroak!

Did you know it was coming or was it a complete surprise?

It was a complete surprise. I had my suspicions when she said it was coming from over seas but she sneakily made it sound that it was something coming from Japan.

I am really looking forward to painting him. Until the surprise Dread arrived yesterday, he was my favorite model that I got.

I hope you got her an amazing Christmas present as well. :)

I got her an out of print edition of book she read as a child, the book is still in print but she wanted it hard cover and with a certain cover art. I finally found her a copy in good condition. She got a cute new wallet. Lastly I got her the Start Collecting Box Sylvaneth.

Well played sir... well played!

Awesome Christmas it seems you had!
Anyways! one quick tip with the dread saurian if you haven´t glued all the parts yet: fill the gaps before gluing (place a considerable amount of green stuff between pieces, specially body & legs, and then press it to shape). With mine I fount that the gaps avoided perfect bonding between pieces :)

He is all glued together. I spent most of today using liquid green stuff to get the gaps. He looks good. Still need to touch up some spots were the upper and lower jaws meet.

So it has been so cold I was unable to prime until today.

I stepped outside of my comfort zone on this, and primed white. Turned out rather well. So happy!

Step 2 of outside my comfort zone, I used a rattle can of Mephiston Red. This turned out out well. Missed a few spots but that happens.

After about 4 hours of work. Still have a lot to do. But that is for tomorrow.

Man! I wish people would let me have time like this to concentrate on the hobby... my wife starts complaining after half an hour... latest... ;)

Good job on the dread so far! Was not a bad idea, to move out of your comfort zone and use a sprayed basecoat for a model of that size, I think... hope you find time to upload the pics of today! ;)

Yup. Thankfully my better half enjoys painting models and stuff, aaaaannnddd the fact that she was at work made didn't hurt either. ;)

Not much of an update, couldn't sleep so did a little hobbying! I added a second coat to the metalics, painted the straps, scars, and eyes. I added a subtle drybrushing to brighten some spots and added more shade to the big scales to darken them.

Tomorrow will be spots that I have missed, because the white primer is no holds bar when it comes to showing off places that I missed. Also tomorrow will be all the armor and detailing.

You have to get her into the hobby... that should buy you a little extra hobby time!
