Hello all, welcome to my blog covering the development of my lizardmen army and it's associated terrain pieces.

I'll post progress as I go, c&c would be really helpful, I'll always try to respond to questions.

Looking forward to seeing your progress and the development of your army.

Here are the first stages of my ziggurat build.

Quite a challenge as I wanted to do separate blocks to add to the realism. This is only the basic structure, need to work on gaps, weathering, the stairs and a feature for the top (any suggestions?)

Yeh, I chose lizardmen partly because I love painting and highlighting deep blue colours. I might do the stomachs and off areas a white colour, shaded ofc. Then bronze gold details. At least for the rank and file.

Solid choice, I love blue lizards.

Ziggurat is going to be awesome, carve in some cracks and add some vines and embellishments like glyphs or something like that! Can't wait to see what you do with this.

Yes, that is the next stage. Cant wait til it starts looking awesome. Terrain is quite unforgiving as the results are slow to appear! Not much til the drybrushing stage.

Ive struggled with vines, im good with moss, grass, general vegetation but creating creepers is a science im not party to. Any tips?

Awesome stuff! Looking forward to more!

I´d suggest three things that I can think of right now: A sacrificial altar with dried (or fresh ) blood, a huge lizardmen glyph/banner or an alarm watch "tower" with a huge drum hanging off two poles (which could also be some glyphs). And if that doesn´t convice you you could also make an entrance to the actual pyramid like the real mayan pyramids.
hope it helps :):)

Wicked! Thanks for the replies chaps. I shall be:

1. Ordering some of those vines, where are they from?
2. Checking out the Mayan art
3. Most likely doing a platform with drum etc :)

Thanks again chaps.

More pics this weekend.

You might want to get some Floral wire (with and/or without paper wrap).
It's great for vines or wire trees or just all around use, and it's generally
cheep and readily available. (Think Wal-Mart still caries it)
