Blog The Grove: Personal and Commission Works

Dang that model flower knight model is exquisite; your colors are perfect. Really like how beautifully you painted the green and red.

And the colors on the beetle are only more impressive. Well done! :vulcan:

Very nice. Just curious, approximately long does it take you to paint something of this complexity to such high standard?
The Beetle honestly I don't know. I worked on it a little here and there between commissions. An estimate...
2.5 hours assembly
.5-1 hour priming
Painting the beetle probably took around 15 hours
about 10 hours for Alarielle herself
3 hours on the base because the realistic water was a mess.

so around 33 hours probably give or take 2-3 hours.

The results are clearly well worth the effort!

Thanks! I'm hoping to get some work done on some Seraphon soon :)

Awesome! Is it a comission or for your own??

I remember when I had a metal lord of change and the wings kept falling off, I was 12 and had no notion of pinning :p

I love the design of the new one though, really well made.
Ya same... ugh I hate metal lol

This one is for myself. I going to mess around and build a Daemon army. It will include Magnus the Red, that Lord of Change, and a Fateweaver as like the top HQ's. Won't be anythign competitive but definitely fun.

Now to the commission that will pay for that army lol... I am going to be painting 30 Marvel miniatures from a bid I won off of a site called Vyndica. I really underbid on this project which sucks. Unfortunately I didn't do my research on these models before I bid on the project. The day they were to be delivered I then remembered to check what material they are made of..... and they are all metal. Ughhhhhh.... oh well you live and you learn! Here are the first few:

Sorry I know I've been slacking with the pics lately, I will try and take pics of the GK Termies i finished and the latest pic of the Lord of Change.

that boss on the beetle thing is amazing you elevate is so much higher than the picture on the GW website imo
Thanks! I "borrowed" the design from Next Level Painting. I got the idea from him, to make the single horn different from the rest of the body. I used different colors however, he used green/blue. :)

Here's a few pics from a commission I'm working on. They are from a Marvel table top game. I took pics of the Grey Knight Terminators as well, but have to retake them... they came out awful.
