@NIGHTBRINGER Thanks. means a lot to me

Brought some of the basing materials I would need but all will take time getting sent out, as they are out of stock but expected for restock. Welp I would just have to work with what I can, I lack a good base paint too but can't get down to the shop till Thursday...

Update for today and thoughts
Been painting two Skink Archers for the upcoming Coa'Xoch but only problem is lacking the basing materials because 'restocking expected' I should of looked elsewhere but eh. The Archers are just testing the colour scheme, once I get around to posting I will post the inspiration for these guys.

Getting a Verminlord Deceiver soon for posing work. As the Laketown house came back into stock.

I want to use the Troglodon spares to make the model without buying a new kit, there is the common coming out the waters but trying to come up with something different. Also will have to run this by the store...

Also waiting for the weather to settle a bit to do some spraying, priming all by hand is a pain.

Thought I would do some WIP of the Coa'Xoch, went to a better spot in the house to take some pictures

Still need to paint the claws fully and paint the leather, also the bow and metal parts too. Debating whether to go for a gold or a different one.

Well here is the start of them, aiming for vibrant colours while trying not to make them over the top bright. Didn't wanted to use shade with the blue because I was worried it might get darkened too much.

For inspiration, I took some mild inspiration from Forokururu, a large Bird Wyvern from Monster Hunter Frontier
(Theme music)
Looking at the choice of colours, patterns and blends. Couldn't really pull off the more Turquoise colour but the blues still give a nice touch. I gave green stripes, hard to see unless properly looked at, didn't want them bright that draws attention away.
Well the bird was just a mild source of inspiration :p
For the stone knife, I actually looked at the Stone Sentinel from The Legend of Spyro A New Beginning, a weird source but the whole level has some interesting stuff.

Looking to which models for the army, I was thinking a Troglodon but only the spares sit around. Trying to aim for spending way less and using models that sit around. So many factions within my Seraphon already.

Trying to make a Saurus Oldblood for the Carnosaur, for the Chaq'Kai army.

Cause how you get many spares but only the one back with tail/spine part. Not sure how this fin looks, of course still needs to be finished. Also had to shorten the spear too, not really a spear anymore :p

I love this it looks imposing AF, what is the fin from. Also i love looking at you're kit bashed models gets my creative juices flowing good on you

Okay, something has been bugging me here.
I currently have my Wolf Rats sitting on their bases, ready to be primed. Yet I keep looking at it and I don't feel happy with their bases.

Maybe it's just me but it feels like they need to be better and that. Possibly due to them being Forgeworld they need even more fancy bases :joyful: They have the space.

Also two Biovores and a headless Saurus hanging out :p

Little update
Not much painting going on, mostly focusing on putting models together and see what I can kitbash to use up the spares.

Originally I was planning for the finned Saurus to have the arm without the armour on, cause I couldn't find one I just ended up putting the Oldblood one on... and guess what? I found one buried underneath my foam and magazine pile! So need to try and get the arm with the spear off and replace it. Reason why I wanted the blank arm is because I wanted to sculpt some spikes and that onto it.

I have some Skin Wolves coming soon, I want to make a nice display for them to sit on, a bit like a decorated movement tray. Not sure how I will use them in battle, Chaos monsters they are.

*Plus have spares for another Oracle, what should I do with this Oracle? I have one on Trog and one on foot/standing on a dragon's head.

Mostly waiting for the weather to settle, do tons of spraying.

Forget the idea thing, already got one  Hit me so quick that did

Another kitbash, Skink Starpriest on Cold One. Just needs slight more work and it will be ready for priming.

Hopefully the store manager will let me blend the two warscrolls like last time. Heh, Saurus OldBlood on Bastiladon.

Thanks

Okay this is a very fast update, I just went through the mini box of models that I got once on ebay, re-found the metal Saurus model.

I just gave him a scrub as best as I can to remove the bluetac/ clay. Yes the model was covered in that. I should of had a picture before when I first got it, he had a sculpted pelt on his back but it was made of said bluetac/clay and painted.
Once I get the paint off it's time to decide what to do, I could rebuild it together. Or maybe try and convert it as he is the only Saurus from that edition I have got, look a little odd among the rest of the Saurus.

Scar vet me thinks....

@Crowsfoot I could, I don't have many on foot.

Plus when the inspiration hits again, always for the Seraphon. Nothing else in the entire collection, only Seraphon... :artist:
Coa'Xoach are still a thing, just re-thinking the blue and waiting for the basing materials.

The Chaq'Kai Skink on the far right was a test model.

Still need to finish the first three.
Debating on a metal/stone for the unknown Skink.
