Blog Return of the Ancient Painter: Troggoths added

that bloody temple keeps looking at me!

Good I stored my tower in the basement... would be to tempting to finish it instead of preparing for my exams... on the other hand it's all just one shoebox ready to be brought upstairs and our cellar lies on the way to the washing machine... a place my wife is probably going to send me to later today... :angelic::locktopic:;)

So I started work converting my plastic Acrocanthosaurus into a Dread Saurian.

This is the base model.

I've added some parts, I'm not 100% on the conversion but I like the helmet and nose armour, the base needs more work but that will come later.

Now I'm not sure on colour scheme yet but I want the top to be dark to contrast the gold armour, I'm thinking dark purple or dark grey with a stripped under belly, not sure, what do you guys think?

Nice, been looking forward to this!

Purple and gold go well together, so that sounds decent to me. Wouldn't go with grey, could look rather bland... I might go with a dark purple on the back, then a much darker stripe, followed me lighter purple transitioning to a bone colour for the belly.

I think a dark grey with some purple highlights would look great. Can't wait to see what you do with this!

Dark grey on his back... a black stripe on his side... some cream white/ bone color for the underside... and maybe a touch of red for the throat and the chest...
That's my suggestion...
Little addition: do some of the armor as a kind of stonework... jade or something...
