We Honour the Old One Aartzifartzi with sacrifices of fresh art.
He / she / it was pleased with these offerings. Were you?
The theme/s for the competition were "Freedom and Slavery AND Vengeance and/or Hope"

The winner was @pendrake closely followed by... @pendrake and @n810. Clearly n810 is more of a hindrance than a help.

However, I would like to remind every entrant that we are ALL winners.
Especially me.

The comp gallery will be immortalised in the Temple of Aartzifartzi.
The WIP Thread with bonus art is to be found here.

We've sent the joint entry to Bob from two different PM accounts and about four different links to it.... (the first copy went in March 30th).

:sorry:
@n810 ...I am able to see all of them.

Maybe we need to organize an expedition down under to clean the Skaven out of SoBob's Scrying Pool.

Yeah, I've got to say all entries are scary good- which is not to say that s some rougher entries in the past haven't drawn votes and been well appreciated.

Essmir got an autovote. My second, for Pen-10 took some consideration. With the words, it was perfect, therefore I had to consider if I would have rated it as art alone. Yup.

In future comps, if there are more than three "graphic novel" type entries, I will run them as a separate category (same voting poll, but there will be a first placed graphic novel and a first placed vanilla entry)

Really fantastic work everyone! :artist::pompus::vulcan:

Some well-crafted works to choose from, thank you for posting!

Some really amazing stuff this round! It was not eay to choose the votes. Really tough, but I was glad I could give a vote to N810!

I gave my votes to the same artist. :snaphappy:
I suppose it's a matter of style and personal tastes...

Bumping the art comp poll a bit. 12 people have voted, at least 5 more will need to vote for the attractive and intelligent comp host to humiliate everyone else.

Use your votes wisely!. (Wisely-er than the first 12 dolts)

This is the pull-quote from Purpose (by LordKingCrow) that inspired entry # two:

The City Burns

"...There were a great many weapons to be had, but he found himself drawn to the obsidian axe carried by Revered Guardian Xanst ... the weapon was buried in some rat-like monstrosity of twisted flesh and mottled fur..."

(Not many spoilers in the quote or the picture; it's all from the first few paragraphs. The title is also a quote from the story.)

There are some great pieces on here. I've always been very appreciative of those who have the talent. I can barely draw a straight line let alone craft something as wonderful as we see here. Thanks to all for putting your work on here.
I had to vote for Pendrake, of course. I'm glad you found inspiration in my short story. I think you captured the image perfectly. You really embraced the dark and gritty nature of the story. Well done!
My second vote was for Fulcrum and N810. I just love this piece, both the quality and the humor. Everything looks crisp and well done. Poor big guy has such tiny little arms...

The standard of entries continue to rise. I hope whimsical first time entries don't get scared off.

And well done Pendrake. You will have a tough battle when @Warden gets his Apple Barrel back.
