I think you chose wisely. For me buying a dead end army is of no concern (other than cost) because my only interest is in a discontinued "dead" game (8th edition).


If GW refuses to release TK through made to order, I will patiently pick off good deals when they become available on the secondary market. It may cost me a bit more time (and perhaps $), but at least my money won't be going to GW and thus supporting AoS. Small personal victories I suppose!

The stuff is hot right now on Ebay. But you can never be certain as to how long it will remain so. If GW did a run of made to order, then that would likely drive the price back down.

I'm following TK on Ebay since one year, and prices are...variable to a point.
The trend is a slow but costant increase in prices, on basically all the kind of models, but sometime there is a small decrease for certain models, that usually lasts a limited time (for example, the actual prices of carrions are slightly lower than a couple of months ago)

Agreed. The key to Ebay is always patience. All it takes is one slow week of bidding/interest in a particular item in order to grab a great deal.

Yeah, not cheap, but Settra alone is impossible to find for less than 100 GPB, then there is the warsphinx, lots of skellies, chariots, unnamed characters, SIX ushabties...

The price is not "wrong" but it's a significative amount of money. :p

(and anyway, there's also the option to offer a lesser sum. You could strike a deal, but I can see that it's already followed by 6 people!)

I should start dropping into random model/hobbying shops when I am out and about and check their dusty old stock for TK to sell on eBay...

I have been! No luck so far. Actually, I have my mother (who is vacationing in Hungary) checking out a few shops there too!

Got them for a pretty decent price on Ebay. Other than the Sphinx and Settra, these are some of the most expensive and difficult TK models to secure.

Depending on the style of the model, they might provide some excellent conversion material. Any word on when the Tomb Kings Blood Bowl team might be released? Also, will it be a plastic release or resin?
