We could have asked for a 1 hour finale episode. I could always use some more Samurai Jack.

    It was a brilliant season.

It really pulled on the old heart strings at the end.

True, an hour long finale would've been a blast but I'm not too greedy about it, especially since the revival season itself was more than some of my other favourite animated shows ever got when cancelled. The ending is bittersweet in some ways but It was also a very appropriate conclusion to the story. I'm very happy with where this season has taken the viewers and (to me at least) is an example of how to make a high quality revival for a show.

However, I'm a bit stunned at how people on other forums seem extremely critical and negative about it. We get a revival in the original TV format, it has most of the original cast and creators making it, and we get a conclusion to the show after nearly 12 years of speculation and all I seem to see elsewhere is a lot of moaning about why it had to be this way (aka. why the bittersweet element). o_O

The point of the show was never to have Jack have his cake and eat it too. Maybe I'm wrong for thinking this, but it just seems like these other viewers are acing a bit spoiled, after already getting an amazing season. In an slightly off topic comment, I'm still waiting 16 years for Reboot to get a 5th Season to wrap up its cliffhanger ending, instead it looks like i'm getting a rebooted show with little of the original concept and characters remaining. If Samurai Jack got this treatment, I'd understand the negative reception a lot more.

I completely agree. In essence we got a 22min X 10 series finale, so I guess we're pretty lucky. If you put all the episodes together, they really make for a perfect finale.

I've heard some negative feedback as well. The only thing I really agree with is that it was a bit convenient how all of Jack's friends showed up at the end. The gripe isn't that they did show up (which was awesome and something I had hoped for), but the fact that they were all watching it on the tv (seemingly from their homes) and the next minute they were all at Aku's place. There is some significant geographical separation between these places. Either way, it is only a very small gripe, lost in the sea of awesomeness that was season 5.

It was an interesting twist. To be honest I didn't think they would end the show on that note. In the end if felt very poetic/artistic. They successfully created a very powerful emotional moment.

I didn't think that the show was that popular. I only ever watched a couple of random episodes here and there. It sucks that they left you on a cliffhanger.

In the end, season 5 of Samurai Jack did the rest of series justice. We can ask for no more.... except maybe a season 6... Jack's quest to bring back Ashi, hahaha

I'm probably in a minority for that show, It's bigger in popularity in Canada than in some other places due to broadcast issues in the late 90's. \

Otherwise, I'm happy you enjoyed the finale, NIGHTBRINGER. I will ask for no more at this point (but if you really want MORE, maybe petition Gendry for another graphic novel series, no episode restrictions that way :p )

Hahaha... can you imagine? Everyone hounds Genndy for over a decade to finish Samurai Jack, and now that he does, we start hounding him for more!

    .... I guess I should make a list:

    Dragon Warrior (quest unfinished)
The Mysterious Cities of Gold (found like 3 of 7 cities)
Thundarr the Barbarian (never defeated main villain)
Pirates of Darkwater (found like 7 of 13 sacred treasures)

... probably some more I'm forgetting.

LOL yea they tended to cancel shows rather abruptly back then.

Pirates if Darkwater is probably the most watchable,
as it's he newest of the bunch.

It kinda resembles Avitar the last airbender, what with the random hybred animals.
