Because then GW can't sell their TK sculpts. TK have a lot of great models (and a few bad ones too), if GW brought them back, it would be at least in some part due to them trying to sell things like Sphinxes, Necro Knights, Sepulchral Stalkers, Tomb Gaurd, etc.If they brought back the Tomb Kings why would they be foul undead things??
- Everything was reduced to cinders?
- The spirit/souls of everything drifted off into the Cosmos?
- Where they bumbled into "realms" (whatever those are) and plorp!
- They is alive again!! In a realm (that resembles their home area of the former world).
So why would the Tomb Kings be any different? Why wouldn't they be Kingdoms of Living Men inhabiting palaces built in lush river valley with desert to either side?
Every AoS race in a nutshell (besides Seraphon). If they brought back the Tomb Kings why would they be foul undead things??

What if they kept the Sphinx and whatever models you guys liked but the new stuff was living & breathing?
For what purpose? TK have such a cool and unique aesthetic. What if they kept the Sphinx and whatever models you guys liked but the new stuff was living & breathing?

That's an interesting take. I prefer them the way they are currently, but I can see the appeal in your idea. I believe in the old pre-AoS fluff, there were actually TK cities that allowed living humans to reside within them. So there is some precedence supporting your idea.To have an army faction that consisted of both the living and the dead. Who here can think of a Wargames Army from any maker that is roughly half/half undead and living troops?
I am not suggesting any change whatsoever to aesthetics. Shield designs: same. Iconography, Sigils, Hieroglyphs: Ancient Nehekharan all the way. Same armor, helms, spear tip patterns, bows, etc. Identical equipment for the living and the dead.
That would be unique, possibly in an IP and trademarkable way. Everybody thinks that is what ~~GW Ltd~~ is all about.
Just sayin'.
It's still better than some of the names they have come up with!EDIT: * "Toombe Kyngss" due to my own lack of creativity, not intended as a criticism.

The fluff of Oldhammer was far more rich than actual AoS, but names are just a thing that you become used to.
