As for your proposed changes: IMO that would kill the simplicity tjat AoS was made for. If you want a good shooting ruleset I think 40K is the way to go. Shooting phase before movement phase and all the restrictions. The ruleset is just better.

Meh, I found those rules to still be very simple/straightforward.

Dunno the rules for 40k apart from that a look out sir rule exists and there is some semblance of logic with shooting the nearest guys when shooting at a squad.

It is a boxed game with an asylum, a graveyard, an abandoned ship (and a bunch of other creep-sational schtick nicked from Malifaux). Sigmar is there. Locked away. Having a fever dream.

Meh there's already 3 boxed games with warhammer quest, that one boxed game with the 4 khorne champions & shadespire, and shadespire isn't even all that old. I'd hope that another boxed game isn't the only thing. That'd be a bit of a let down given the amount of build up.

Agreed - I'm still waiting for the next Fyreslayers update where they bring Ungrim Ironfist back on a giant Magmadroth, give Fyreslayers a more competitive Battletome with warscroll cards and give the sons of Grimnir some more different units... :oldman:

Cannons and Rocket Batteries are nasty. The Celestial Hurricanum is one of the best buff wagons in the game, adding +1 to hit to everything around it, as well as a pretty strong source of mortal wounds.

The old Empire army is in a pretty good place, you just need to find the right synergies.

Except that the Empire State Trooper minis look really REALLY ugly...

Fyreslayers are even better - the Magmadroth deals out a tonne of mortal wounds on anything that comes close, their basic troops have saves against mortal wounds and they have characters that can cater for loads of different jobs.

Fyreslayers FTW, and out with SCE and Sylvaneth who get all the glory!
 
They released another video, showing the final hero. Or course it's Stormcast.
And I keep picking out bits again, giving myself false hope, I saw one of the Seraphon symbols scribbled on the paper, which is also scribbled out. One of the unused ones, it's like an arrow shape and how it's an observatory and all. I should stop digging into things, I have people all like 'it means nothing' but I like to fish for little bits of interesting notes.
 
I am honest I like how they done him, everyone else is freaking out elsewhere. He looks fitting to his role

Update on arrow: My friend mentioned it could be one of the eight lore's of magic symbol. Then what's it doing hanging out on the Seraphon constellation. I don't know anymore :oops:

where do you see that, I still only get the hand popping out of a grave as the newest one.
 
The last hero for Malign Portens has been revealed, and "sound the trumpets" it's another freaking Stormcast

The map shows 4 of the lore's of magic (left to right). Death(Shyish), Shadows(Ulgu), Light(hysh) and Metal(Chamon).

sigh, that makes what, stormforged #33? It's getting a tad ridiculous.. there's "factions" that have less than 10 models (clan pestilence has a tome but only a whopping 6 models...). Do half the factions literally not sell at all or something?
 
Y'all are starting sound like a 40K board. "Really?! Another Space Marine release? When do the xenos get anything?" ;-)

Interesting model. If they actually give him the engineer key word, I may add him into my Free Peoples based Order army as a replacement for the gun master. Depends on points, but he may be a bit more survivable and have a bit more utility. I'll probably get all the heroes irregardless. They'll be a fun one off project if nothing else.
