Okay, with the changes to possible plans. How GW announced that the second month will have to add the harbinger. I'm a little stuck on choices now, got a Slaanesh box coming in but I'm still hanging on to the threads of the Seraphon. Can't seem to exactly let go because the army has made some progress, even though I can't find the rider for the Carno. I might see if I can get them painted as much before I get the box as I can then go onto to joint painting them with Slaanesh and see how it goes.
Still bugs me that I placed the rider somewhere...

Ha, getting the Slaanesh box will be that bit harder anyone else thinks. Still chipping away at the Seraphon SC, found the rider half-painted but no seat. Still need to get the riders for the Cold Ones sprayed, just wish the weather would warm up a small bit so I can do so. Have a sneaky peek at the Carno

Still needs all the details painted.
Also need to decide whether I want to add Saurus Guard, Rippers or a Stegadon for later on.

Finally was able to get the riders for the Cold Ones sprayed, it's just working on them and doing the detail work on the others and bases, still in a juggle between Saurus Guard, Stegadon or Rippers for later on.

Also been working on side building while waiting for paint to dry or when lighting doesn't want to brighten up the room well.

Working on some strange birds for an undead styled army, strange bird-skull beings, bird ghouls, gryph hounds, all things bird to relate to vultures, crows, ravens. All things of the sorts that are dark and death-like. Little fun side-project to run alongside Malign Portents.
Busy looking at other options of birds, so far got the bird lady, Gryph hounds and converted ghouls.

A bit like an army of Carrion then...

Some of these Undead Vultures would probably look good in your army, if you can get them cheap.

You could probably use them as something like an avian version of Vargheists.

Love the idea! :)

Lucky enough I have a unit of them, would be nice to get a hold of some more. I will have to go and have a check to see what the prices are.

That will be a fun theme. You might want to look into the "murder crows" from Warmachine/Hordes too

Also there are tons of inspirational pictures of those renaissance "plague doctors" that would look cool in a bird-beak themed army, maybe as a necromancer...

I think this one is from Black Forest Studio:

Many thanks! Never realised they did Murder Crows, I knew they made a new army but not the Murder Crow part. Only problem is that GW is GW, may still be getting some as they will look great and the other GW ones just used in GW, as the shop manager likes a bit of creative rules and that, may get a chance to craft rules for them from the other base ones and use them in store.

Here is what there is so far with the Undead Bird army, the ghouls still need green stuff done for the necks

I have just been looking around at the Plague Doctors and there is a huge lack of them, I did see a nice one done by Zombicide/Guillotine Games but it looks like a Kickstarter exclusive and it looks like they have the perfect box of crows.... but looks like a hard to get hold of in the UK

What are the Gryph-Hounds going to represent then?

Your ghouls are looking great so far, very creepy with the birdy-heads.

You bring up a good point though, I hadn't thought about the non-GW-models-in-a-GW-store issues that could come up. Maybe if they are painted really well and sprinkled in with the rest of the units no one will notice? :D

Thanks, well I can try and hide them but there will always be that one person who notices :D
I actually brought a Flint-Fang from Mierce miniatures a long while ago, he is like a decorative piece for Clan Moulder

Well found this guy hiding away, looks like a Plague Doctor, but looks more metal

I kept thinking there was going to be more, but then that could be my younger self saying so, when we learned in History about the plague, teacher wouldn't talk more about the doctors wearing the strange bird masks though, apparently they say they weren't that important to cover in lesson. Well time to do some long needed catch-up.

I am thinking of adding a Basilisk to the army, might fit, might not. Need views whether it would fit among the others.

Grrr why is seemingly everyone but me capable of painting Saurus eyes?

Nice teaser!

Thanks, well if it makes you feel better, I actually have a hard time painting Skink eyes, I find they are too big and I always overpaint them.

I just paint the eye yellow and, using my smallest brushes, paint a slit in the middle. In fact I find Lizard eyes much easier than humanoid eyes.

Maybe I could try painting one later on, but used to have the problems because big eyes and I keep overdoing it so it goes all over the eyelids.
Then I had the joy a short while ago of painting pupils on a Dawn Serpent miniature from Malifaux... that was painful to do.
