Are you sure that’s not Nagash? I would like to see Settra return but it sounds similar to a Warhammer Community article describing why all the armies fight in Malign Portents, where the Chaos factions fight Nagash because they don’t want his eternal, unliving order.
 
It is one of the pages from the Malign Portents book describing the reasons for all the Chaos Gods to go to Shyish to fight Nagash.
No Settra in there. I carefully read through the whole book and there is nothing at all in there pointing to Tomb Kings or any Tomb Kings characters. (Except Mortarchs, IIRC Neferata and/or Arkhan were once Tomb Kings).

Neferata was Khalida’s sister and hated enemy and left Nehekhara to become the first Vampire of Lahmia, and is thus not a TK character, while Arkhan was always a Tomb Kings character even before he became a Mortarch.

As much as I love Tomb Kings, they were never that popular even back during the days of WFB. GW has little reason to bring them back now in any format other than for a short "made to order" stint. But as for getting new units or a battletome, I just don't see it. Let them rest in peace, they have earned their freedom.

Does anyone think that GW might one day phase them out completely (meaning removing their warscrolls)?

I think it would be a pretty risky proposition for someone to start a Tomb Kings army now with the intent of playing AoS. I'm sure there will be a few disgruntled TK players out there.

The army is absolutely massive, containing just about every Tomb King character and unit in the army book. From previous purchases, I also own, 40 plastic Tomb Guard, a box of Necroknights/Stalkers, 16 Skeleton archers, Khalida (now a duplicate), Tomb King on foot, Tomb king on chariot. The only thing I need are bits from a Necrosphinx to make a Hierotitan (but that can wait, I can just sub in a bone giant in its place for now).


I'm a happy guy! Now I have 3 full fantasy armies (Lizardmen, Warriors of Chaos & Tomb Kings) and an old Necron army that I can't part with due to sentimental reasons.

In other news, look at this hot garbage. Why does every skeleton have a tunic? These are supposed to be fantasy Egyptians. I see a use for the horses if the rider legs are separate. Knowing mantic, probably not.
