Certainly looks like they’re in groups of 5 - excellent for getting some converted Kroxigors into my Lizardmen army...

I've got my plans on what to use some of the models for. Got left over Saurus Knight bodies, Sotek will be pleased. Need to check the scale on the Moraith monster, have plans there also.

I've just read the rules for the new model(s) of Morathi.
Sweet sigmar, i think that, on paper, it's the strongest thing I've seen in all AoS 'til now.

But at £80, we won't see many people fielding her, especially as the monstrous version is so difficult to transport with those wings.

Furthermore, the thing I like most is that when she transforms any wounds previously allocated to her are doubled, so if you can inflict the maximum of 3 wounds on her in the first turn before she transforms she will have lost 6 wounds when she does, meaning her Heartrender only gives 4 attacks and her envenomed tail does D6 damage, rather than 6. Also when she's a monster she has reduced magic capabilities, loses her command ability and her Sorceress Supreme and Enchanting Beauty special rules, making her easier to kill at range.

I think I could take her with Fyreslayers.

Very dynamic models, looks like they took the old wych elf concept and chopped of her legs and added a snake tail and/or just added bat wings.

Wych elves from fantasy were never really my thing though so... no thanks. I like the idea of doing some cool COATL CAV conversions for skinks, but I don't think I would use these models as the base because of all the leftover wych-bits left over. You could more easily make snake-bodies out of clay for much cheaper I think. At least with the old Tomb King serpent-riders you could re-use some of the skeleton bits in another army; having the upper-torsos of the lovely ladies left seems like a waste.

I curious to see how much the snake girls will cost. Is this another witch elves level price hike we saw previously or will it be more "reasonable"?

    Thank you! Interesting.

    That translates to:

    Snake Ladies $62 CAD
    Winged Elves $54 CAD

Interesting to see how GW prices them in Canada. Maybe $65 & $55?

I actually think that the Kharadon Overlords are the best of the new AoS armies (alongside of the Daughters of Khaine, but they are more of an expansion of a WFB unit/army than something unique to AoS). While they are too technologically advanced for WFB, they seem to fit well into the "higher" fantasy world that is AoS. At the very least, they seem pretty original within the GW story worlds.

Does anyone want to guess my least favourite AoS army? :p

That is interesting - £35 for the Melusai and £30 for the Harpy remakes. It is pretty expensive but it does look as though there will be 5 of them in a box, which is actually pretty decent. If it was £35 for only 3 of them it would be far too expensive, same as the new Tyranid Warriors, but for 5 it is much better.

That is actually a considerable saving compared to buying 3 ordinary Kroxigors from the GW website - I probably wouldn’t need to order them off an online order point, I would get 5 Melusai for around the same price as 3 Kroxigors and I would have all the fun of converting them.

    I’m certainly tempted...

Would you care to evaluate all the AoS armies in order of cool like you did with fantasy? I would be interested to see the results. Here’s my order:

Fyreslayers = Kharadron Overlords = Dispossessed > Ironweld Arsenal > Ironjawz >All Skaven > Seraphon > All other Greenskins > remnants of High Elves > Wanderers > All Beastmen > Beastclaw Raiders > All other Ogres > Stormcast Eternals > Tzeentch > Khorne > All other Dark Elves > Slaves to Darkness > Daughters of Khaine > Slaanesh > Free Peoples > Nurgle >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sylvaneth

Gotta love how Sly Marbo appears during that screaming of 'Charge!' :D

Still in this deep thought on getting DoK for the Order Serpentis or wait till later. Depends is Order Serp can take them as allies, like how the Chaos Daemons have strange ally system going. Can take an ally but not the other way around.

Such good guessing! I award a top hat to you both. Tiniest Top Hat.jpg Tiniest Top Hat.jpg

That's the problem with AoS, there are WAY too many factions. Also many of those factions are massively underdeveloped to the point where a true comparison would be virtually impossible. Other armies are simply ported over directly from WFB and given "stupid" new names.

The Kharadron Overlords are at least original and fitting within the AoS landscape. That's why they get my vote as the best AoS army. Daughters of Khaine look awesome but are simply an extension of the Dark Elves Witch Elves.

I do like Kharadron too because they do look great, I’ve just shown more interest in Fyreslayers lately because they have more potential to be used in Fantasy as well as AoS. How do you feel about Fyreslayers? I think they’re great as they are also original. True they did appear before in fantasy but only as part of the generic Dwarf army and not that viable a part. Here in AoS they are a separate army with their own lore and their own stuff.
