Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - March 2018

This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

Cheers Crowsfoot

Note: Previous months can be found in the vault http://www.lustria-online.com/forums/the-vault.40/

I have a few things on the go!
  1. I'm trying to complete a giant Minotaur for a contest this week.
  2. I'm hoping to complete a Rhino tank from 40K
  3. Aaand I'm getting close to completing my Test of Honor Warband!

I want to reach 175 painted model equivalency. This is a tall order as I am out of state for a week starting next Saturday

@Crowsfoot could we get the previous months "let's get motivated" threads in a separate archive subforum so we can look back at past months without having to trawl the full painting forum? It's not an issue now, but it will be.

Since I failed three of my four February goals I want to get those done:
- Bastiladon base
- Sunblood
- Terradons

I also want to paint five Black Knights and ten Grave Guard.

Good idea I've moved it to the vault and added the info to the first post.

Is there a way to give the vault a subforum for these? My inner archivist is kicking in.

I have never been able to settle on a colour scheme for my lizardmen. I have painted several, and not one has been good enough to commit to an entire army. One day perhaps. Next project will likely be Chaos or TK though (after the terrain piece of course).
What colors do you like?

I like lots of colours (mostly anything but pink), but anything I have tried has looked mediocre at best. The Kroxigor I painted a few months back was another test piece for a potential colour scheme.

Anyhoo... I don't want to derail this thread, or the mighty @Crowsfoot will be vengeful.

You can't derail if your talking about painting/terrain ;)

Reconfirming it here, looking forward to getting a unit of 16 Saurus finished this month! Want to strip them down of the primer they've got on at the moment, since it's over a pretty thick layer of paint and so a lot of the detail is obscured. Any suggestions for products and methods to do it? I'm in the UK so Simple Green is pretty expensive.

Can't double check right now but I think this video may have some good info for you:
