Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - April 2018

This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

Cheers Crowsfoot

Note: Previous months can be found in the vault http://www.lustria-online.com/forums/the-vault.40/

I know it's a tad early but I'm on holiday next week.

Goals for April

Finish my Legions of Nagash army which comprises of the following,

Arkhan
3 Vargheist
3 Necromancers
2 Wight kings
2 Morghast Harbingers
1 Knight of shrouds

Bases on approx 110 models.

Goal:

first two weeks:

As much personal painting as possible

Second two weeks:

Launch dungeon products, put up a sale, try to drive business.

Also, launch another competition after Ides of Sotek, this time for artwork

Okay... I'm actually going to post a goal this month (and we'll have to wait and see if I can reach it... no promises )

My goal is to paint my Necron C'tan Deceiver. I hope to try out a few new techniques on it as it doesn't have to match up colour scheme-wise with any other model.

My progress so far: he is assembled, cleaned of mold lines and has sand put down on his base. Ready for priming.

Yes we've roped NB

Since i stole this topic idea for a french forum, i feel a bit like i should post here at least once.

So my goals are not really ambitious, but i've good hope it's at my reach :
- paint my 2 last ghast/golem from titan-forge
- finish to assemble a tree model i started years ago

Also, since this topic is located in painting/conversion, is it relevant to mention novel writing ? Also... it's in french...

Sure why not?

Okay, so let's add this two :
- finish the last chapter of my current vampire story in fr, or at least write more than 2 pages
- translate one chapter at least in english for vampirecounts

My goal: Do something. Anything.
What Aginor 7 ^ said. (***See below)

Some specifics....

Work on the Draco-Giant; complete the next steps:
Work on the Spirit of the Forest Dragon:
  • He needs a base: preferably magnetically detachable
  • Add greenstuff features to him (around the joins)
  • Link
***Maybe dust off some Chaos Warriors and paint another one.

I need suggestions on silver metallic spray primers please

bright silver or dark silver?

There's a Army Painter spray primer "Gun Metal", which in GW-speak would be Leadbelcher.
If you need a brighter silver there is also "Plate Mail Metal" which is a bit brighter, more like Stormhost Silver IIRC.

As of now I am very happy with all the Army Painter spray primers so those might be worth a try.

I've been using army painter bone, and I was thinking dark metal. I'll give it a shot

Bone is also my most used one, followed by white.
