Blog Chicken Lips Warhammer Armies

One of the members over on EEFL recently had a 10,000 point game between Empire and WoC. It looked quite entertaining, but when you got down to it, there were really just several games going on the same table top. Left, Middle and Right.

Well, I'm very close to being finished with this unit. I only have a few gold trim pieces left to go. It'll be good enough for my game tomorrow! Phew! Just in time!

Beautiful. I absolutely love them. The theme you have come up with is fantastic. Like I said before, the darker colour palette is perfect.

See they are blending in with each other with that darker pallete

Well, another reason I went with a darker, earth-tone pallete, is due to the fact that most of my other armies have bright, vivid blues and other colors. I wanted a good contrast.

That makes sense.

I think what my main issue stems from is the wash on the armor seems to heavy

Your selection makes much more sense to me aesthetically based on their lore/environment

I did some more work on my Dwarf War Machines this weekend. They needed tying into my army themes (and some of them just needed painting!) and washes. I also managed to paint up most of my crew (only half were painted - none based).

And I painted up two Organ Guns...only 1 pic though, since they were exactly the same.

And a Thane for good measure:

I happen to adore that particular bolt thrower model.

Chunky, full metal, looks threatening

Oh, yeah. Me too! I just wish it hadn't died to a single Fell Bat in my game this past weekend....:(

Reinforce with a troop of good old crossbows as defense
I did! They took out two charging units of Dire Wolf's and ALMOST the unit of 2 Fell Bats! They actually performed quite nicely. I had a second 10-man strong unit that took a charge from 3 Vargheists and killed all 3 while only losing 3 in return.

Lucky against the varghiests
