    For Grimnir! :oldman:

In all seriousness though, I haven't realised how much research I've done on Fyreslayers until recently. I'm really getting to understand how I can use them to beat up other armies even though I've only played AoS once before, and that was with some of my regular Dwarfs and Goblins rather than Fyreslayers. Trouble is I've got so many other minis to paint before I can even think of starting Fyreslayers in force, but I've made a plan for that too - it looks as if all I need to get going is the General's Handbook and a Start Collecting box and I will be most of the way towards a 1000-point army including the other Berzerkers I've already got.

I can also use some of the minis I've already got as Fyreslayer characters - the Vulkite I gave an old Dwarf standard, for instance, could be my Battlesmith. That's £18 saved!

Did you like WFB Slayers prior to the introduction of Fyreslayers?

I did indeed, I thought they were great-looking models and quite fun to play with, using my Dragon Slayer as a melee character that once made a unit of Chaos Knights flee by himself, although they were overpriced I admit. That's why I'm using Fyreslayer minis as Slayers in fantasy.

Just a thought on your comment about the Fyreslayers not being original because they were based on Fantasy slayers, surely the Daughters of Khaine aren't that original either, because they're based on the fantasy Witch Elves, giving them their own army just as with the Slayers, whereas Kharadron and Deepkin are completely new.

I agree completely. Daughters of Khaine are not original at all, while Kharadron and Deepkin definitely are. Daughters of Khaine and Fyreslayers are very much the same in the sense that they are simply very popular units from WFB expanded into AoS factions.

A centerpiece model and a few supporting units for good measure.

    Correct.

Speaking of, are the WHFB slayers of old still usable, or have they all been Age of sigmorgified into fyreslayers?

Right, but can they be used? Is there a warscroll for regular slayers?

Does it matter? AoW or GW classic slayers or fyreslayers are all interchangeable.

There is a AoS warscroll for Slayers but it is a legacy warscroll.
So technically yes, you can use them in AoS, but not if you play with points and they don't receive updates. For open play or narrative play they are as usable as Tehenhauin, Jungle Swarms, Tomb Kings or whatever old models you still have.

As @Aginor says, Slayers do have a Warscroll but most people use them as Fyreslayer Vulkite Berzerkers. I had a chat with a GW chap once and he said that Fyreslayer Vulkites and Fantasy Slayers are more or less interchangeable - you can use Vulkites as Slayers and Fantasy Slayers can be used as Vulkites. As long as they are GW minis it probably doesn't matter.

Nice minis, although GW Fyreslayers do look good on Fantasy bases. Here's the proof:

They most definitely do. But it's always nice to have some more options thrown into the mix. Plus the AoW ones are very competitively priced.

If you can get them. I've heard AoW has stock issues
