    Hi fellow colour scaled brothers..

Last Friday I was invited onto The Honestwargamer (live stream and podcast by the super enthusiasic Rob Symes, a fellow lover of lizards to boot).

Game was more about demonstrating the Kroaknado and the how/why you deploy etc

Let me know if it explains things well enough as I was dead nervous throughout!

    Enjoy

I have seen twitch game. It was very nice!! Thx for that!! I have a question about chameleons. Why you put chame upon he vortex? Probably you explained that, but my English is not so good:)

Once there, they get a 3 up save and can't be charged. Excellent for taking and holding an objective.

Placing the Chamo Skinks counts as a set up and not a move, so can be set up on a Balewind Vortex as it counts as scenery :)

Oh amazing!! Another question, the list posted into twitch chat was a unit of 20 skinks , 5 knights and 9 rippers. But during the game you got 3x10 skinks , 6 rippers. You saved remaining points to summon something? But you forgot to do it?:) or I miss something?@darren watson

nice thx a lot. Anyway about chameleon.. You said he can't charge them..why? It's a special rule about skinks or about vortex? O thought he could charge but chame were considered in cover.. I'm missing something?

Can't move within 3" of the balewind. So on it' base they can't be charged

On your first Kroak turn you rolled a 5 out of your 3 die, so you double that on the balewind so thats 10 inches right? There was something about rolling doubles on the cast, but I've never heard that rule about adding range. Somehow you got to 24" and I don't know how. Care to explain?

Unfortunately I couldn't watch it yet, so I don't know the exact situation, but for reference here are all Seraphon rules I know that add range to spells:

An allegiance ability of ours, it says:
If a Slann rolls a double, you add 6" to the range

A Balewind Vortex: It doubles the range of any spell cast by the wizard on top

An Astrolith Bearer nearby: It adds 8" to the range.

A Slann casting through an arcane vassal within 15" measures from the vasall.

Additive modifiers are added after multiplying.

    @Aginor has nailed it

5" becomes 10" on the balewind. Spell was cast on a double so got an extra 6" and the extra 8" from the astrolith gave a total of 24"

I've been watching it on my way to work and on my breaks and so far it's been awesome! Really enjoying getting a look into the thought process behind all the decisions that you make when playing with Kroak as I myself am not too experienced with it yet. Also think the chameleon list looks really fun to play as u can deepstrike and/or teleport your entire army.

Is placing the skinks as far back as you did the usual strat unless you need to move them forward to stop charges/summons? I can imagine they are really valuable for board/objective control as you dont have alot of bodies on the board. I myself lost most of my skinks when I played a similar list and just didnt have any stuff left to put on the objectives even though I was killing the opponents army.

Also if you had to substitute the Prime for seraphon stuff what would u use?

Do you have any pictures of your army? It looked really cool!

Really appreciate the video it really was enjoyable and a great learning experience! Sorry if I'm asking too many questions...

I wanna test your list , but I havn t the prime. What seraphon unit can do a similar job? Maybe old blood on carno buffed from starpriest or a basti?;)

I tend to say Basti would work nicely. He is tough and has a ranged attack with rend.

Basti is a good straight up replacement. Stormcast Eternal Heralds are also good

I think you've answered your own question :)

Skinks are placed well back to draw units forwards and to catch objectives later, once shooting and magic threats have been dealt with. No point holding an objective early if it's only held by 10 Skinks and the enemy are close! Of course it depends on the situation, they are also great screen, but I tend to hold them back if possible. They are very swift and can be teleported later as long as they are alive :)

https://twitter.com/PositiveVictim pics on my twitter account are probably the best way to look at them.

As above the Basti is a decent replacement of the Prime or a Engine of the God. Anything with range to finish off what Kroak starts is of use.

Ask away, the point of my posts is to share the wealth and for feed back if people have alternate suggestions themselves :)

Oh that's great to hear! I was soo nervous (hence the swearing and dice scraping.. sorry). It wasn't my channel, I was invited on. If I get invited on again or elsewhere I'll be a little less nervous now :)
