Slaan with Hats

The flat-plate-with-feathers look is pretty good, you could achieve that using the plate from a Bastiladon's head and some spare bits from Warriors/Knights banners.

That's an interesting idea
 
Maybe something like a skinned jaguar headdress? Or a diadem of crystal chunks floating just above their head

You'd almost certainly need to craft them by hand, but the end result would be well worth it
 
At the risk of starting a second Necroquake, I'd like to share the results of a brief foray into testing my theory;

Absolutely no knife work was needed, just two spots of super glue and it fitted right on. I'm going to stick a little ball in the centre hole as a big gemstone, and maybe strengthen up the connection by packing the gap behind the headdress with green stuff, but I'm very happy with the result!

It's an expensive model and one that you only need one off, I have 3 would I buy another for a comp?

Answer nope and it's hard to make something for a model that you can't test it on.

We already have sculpting comps so I would not spread yourself too thin.
