Hey, nice job on that Eternity Warden! First I was a bit sceptical since the limbs looked a bit too big for the body, but it turned out great! Bogre made me laugh, cool idea!
That boger bat is really cool! Look like a Chinese or Mongolian version of a vampire bat... Dracula Khan! Also great documentary about the development of a saurus tadpole... guess that's the first insight into a spawning pool we got... didn't know saurus tadpoles were called djins though... that eternity warden looks great!
Haha yes , it took me quite a few hours of cutting and scrapping the saurus body but made it fit eventualy, im really proud of it , being my first ever conversion! Well its like.. totally a djin aight? XD , thank you for the kind comment, mostly tried to make it a bit more interesting to see eheh. Quoting aside, i got carried on with the converting so i decided to look at the getting the most of your army post and i got working on my astrolith bearer! Damn, im loving the conversion world! XD Heres the final result! Hope you like it! As allways have a great time and comments are appreciated!
Wip, got an airbrush 2 days ago, first try ever painting with one, quite surprised with the result so far! Hope you like it! Ripterdactyl See you all later!
The gradients that can be done using an airbrush are just so nice. ...I have to finally start properly using mine...
If you have time, do you mind talking about what airbrush you bought? Some of the cost invovled and how you preped for the new paiting method? I've been wanting to buy one for so long.
Thank you all for the nice comments! Indeed it is much easier to do the gradients with the airbrush and im loving it ! Well, i got myself a Evolution Silverline 2 in 1 airbrush with gravity feed, they guys at the company i work for use it aswell and im really pleased with it so far! Since we are all on the hobby and painting , sometimes we just stay in the company after work and use the compressor there so the cost was a bit reduced! It costed arround 160€ if im not mistaken, plus some more odds and ends like paints and cables and so on, i went on youtube and watched a ton of videos on starting to use an airbrush to learn how to clean it and how to start painting miniatures , and it really helped! I did some more work on the ripter and i'm really enjoying the result, hope you do too! , ill probably leave it as is and work on the other 8 i got still to paint , and move from there to the riders after! Here's the finished ripter itself Overall im quite pleased with the end result and how the body stands out of the wings color wich adds in more contrast and gives the gradient on the wings opportunity to "shine" through. the claws actualy are not that white but the lighting wasnt great so sorry about that! (they actualy have shading and highlights! xD ) Have a great weekend everyone ! and as allways make sure to comment on what you think! i love hearing the oppinions and constructive critiques!
Nice work on that Ripper! I also have a H&S airbrush (the Infinity CR plus 2in1) and so far I am pretty happy with it. I admit I havent used it a lot though. My buddy has the same one you have and he is also quite happy with it.
Some of you had asked for a bit more clear picture of that mournfang i painted for my friend, he actualy played with him and a couple more i had painted of the ogre army and i managed to snag a couple of pics in the start of the game ! Hope you like them! While uploading the pics i saw that i took a pic at the start of a game of 1000 points vs brettonia (dont know the new name) hehe here it is. There was still a Unit of 3 ripperdactyls on "the clouds" waiting to strike down , and the steggy is a engine of the gods, still waiting on the actual one to arrive eheh! Have a great time everyone!
My advice don't skimp on the compressor, you can start with a cheap airbrush to get the feel use it for priming etc until your used to it, dual action is what you want (most are) Don't go for a ultra detail model at first as they take some mastering (watch youtube vids) and are unforgiving, I use a 1/2 decent one atm.
