Started on my 2nd skink unit. Keeping with the lava theme decided to do something different with the skink alpha, decided to have him hopping from lava explosion to lava explosion. Lol . It's ok was a little hard working it out but itll do And there finished product
Lol cheers. I starting to love using hot glue. The middle of the lava columns is just the edge of the skinks sprue and its covered in swirled hot glue and the rocks are.. well.. rocks . Ive still gotta do the detailing on the skink but i need to get them based for my path to glory campaign this sunday
and so my Starting Path to Glory army is finally painted and ready to run this sunday. Unfortunately for me our armies were decided before the changes with 2.0 so not happy with what i have on a competetive side but happy with the final products lol the final detailing on the skinks will happen later on
Sooo i started on my next unit.. the stegadon. Started out with the base, what was to be a normal swampy base, i decided to have abit of fun with it. Well you'll see what i mean lol Stegadon will be placed over it
Thanks crowsfoot.. Im still waiting on the swamp water to dry, then ive got to apply blood spatter and lots of blood trailing behind the top body thats dragged through the swamp.. I guess it's just more blood for the blood god, just as they ask
Sooooo base is done for now.. might touch up the head and body on the dead a little later, need to get rest done before end of next week
Done and dusted for now. Still a few touch ups to do like shading the bronze and dry brushing the weapons and highlights. I went for the bronze look as everyone seems to go for gold lol. I also got some"blood for the blood god"technical paint for the blood. Came up heaps better.
So i started working on my next unit rippers... airbrushed it golden yellow then went over it in patches of fiery orange. Then ive gone over all the grooves with orange wash. Then went over everything with casandora yellow shade. Though i don't think I'm very happy with the orange wash in the grooves, think i should've left it as it was I'm also going to put a flesh wash on the wing bones area and dry brushing the wings lightly with white and highlights of white also
Thanks nightbringer. I really enjoyed doing the stegadon, and the rippers are turning out to be a completely different challenge to paint compared to the other big dinos. Hopefully i don't try to go too overboard with them lol
lol go for it Deed.. its all about what yo like. as long as your happy with it, who cares what anyone else thinks
