Found out that my opponent could be bringing either Orks or Black Templar.
Feels like my Tyranids are screwed if he brings Black Templars.

Took a moment away from my studies to (mostly) put together a bullgryn proxy consisting of a guy in a bulky exosuit. It's more or less a centurion on a smaller base with a tempestus beret and no armour plating right now, but I intend on equipping the unit with mauls and brute shields.

It's not brute enough for a typical bullgryn, but the final result is pretty cool nonetheless.

If SM got primaris, then Guards could have some high-rank officier with such an exosuit.

It also depends on what kind of world the regiment in question is from and the kind of regiment it produces. My IG army consists of mechanized island hoppers from a relatively high-tech oceanic hive world with a lot of "homegrown" equipment (the grav-russ project I've featured in earlier posts being a prime example).

Bulky industrial exosuits militarized with ablative armour wouldn't be out of the question, especially in the matters of logistics involving cramped quarters that a sentinel powerlifter can't navigate. Alternatively, the "heavy lifters" of a combat engineering unit.

Got another two warhounds built for Adeptus Titanicus while spectating a 30k game between Word Bearers and Salamanders, both sides fielding a reaver titan each.

Thus far, my AT collection consists of:
1 warlord (apocalypse missile launchers, 2 bellicosa volcano cannons)
1 reaver (apocalypse missile launcher, gatling laser, laser blaster)
    4 warhounds
    - 2 armed with 1 plasma blastgun and 1 inferno gun each
    - 2 armed with 1 vulcan megabolter and 1 turbolaser destructor each

I've largely been pushing to be able to field a Venator light maniple (1 reaver, 2-4 warhounds, reaver gets a free shot on an enemy titan if its shields are taken down by the warhounds), but the Axiom battleline maniple (1 warlord, 1-2 reavers, 0-2 warhounds, failed command rolls do not end the maniple's command phase) is just as viable for me right now.

My new Chapter Approved has arrived.
I think I'll skip AoS related things for a while...

Built some Pestigors with their command and pretty happy with their models. Well it's a simple clean and slot into the base with needing the banner glued. Next would be doing the textures on a Carnifex's base, also back to brainstorming for a few things. Stuff being like the next entry for the Rourvuk Carrion and the 40k army
Also another is coming up with a colour scheme for the Centaur Lizardmen and other few miniatures for that mini army. Had someone telling me to stick with one colour scheme and building it up from there, nah I want my four colours. Reason why I did this is mostly for the fluff writing and I am always getting colour ideas but don't want to scrap previous ones.

Building a 1500 Tyranid point list with one of the detachments. Got 183 left to spend.
So far I have I have a Hive Tyrant, Broodlord, two Carnifexes, 30 Termagants, 15 Genestealers and 30 Hormagaunts
Not sure what else to add, this is for the possibility of either against a Orks or Black Templars, could squeeze in some Tyrant Guard. Or many some Venomthropes for some cover. Many choices to pick from.

I'd say put in Tyrant Guard as you seem to have very few Synapse Creatures and so you'll need your Tyrant to last as long as he can against enemy shooting, especially against Space Marines.

Have you given your Hormagaunts anything? I don't know if Toxin Sacs still give Poisoned (4+) in 8th, but if they do I would certainly recommend giving your Hormagaunts those so they can wound T4 Orks and Marines on 4s instead of 5s. Because they'll generally go first against them in melee, with Toxin Sacs they should be able to slaughter anything they can bring against you before they can fight back. I would also say replace some Termagants with Warriors or something else more shooty - Termagants certainly aren't that much use against T4 troops in 5th and 6th and I imagine wouldn't be much better in 8th, unless the range of their weapons has significantly improved. I rarely use mine for anything more than fodder to keep the enemy at bay, and certainly not in big hordes of 30. Otherwise, though, I like your choices. Carnifexes are a must for tank busting, Broodlord and Genestealers are great against Terminators, and I hear they're faster now in 8th so they're less likely to get shot to pieces before they get in there, and a horde of 30 Hormagaunts is just what you need as they'll attempt to shoot them up before they get into melee if they're a halfway decent player - you need enough of them to weather that fire, especially against Marines.

Also what Hive Fleet are you using, just out of interest?

Toxin Sacs cause 1 additional damage for any 6+ to wound rolls in the Fight phase now, I think this can also affect vehicles now. The Hormagaunts also have the glands also, I'm known to always be out by an inch when I charge.
Took out the Termas and put them to the side while I sort out the Warriors, I know I want one to have a Venom Cannon how both my Hive Tyrant and one of the Carnifexes have a Stranglethorn. I had the Termas equipped with the devourers which is just 18" range and the 4 in S, hard to remember how well they did last game.
Deciding on how to equip my Tyrant Guard, if I remember from my last game my monsters got targeted by tanks, so Crushing Claws would be good if I take small risks how their rule comes into play if I am within 3" of the Hive Tyrant. The whip and bonesword is good also, how I do get a chance to fight back when one goes down during the Fight phase.
Haven't picked a Hive Fleet for them yet, how I have both a Melee running and Ranged army it's a tough decision, I might end up going Leviathan but it means I need to keep within 6" of the Synapse units and there is not enough Synapse going around to make use, then also relying on rolling a 6 to ignore wounds caused.

Doing some eBay hunts at the moment, checking what I have of the Goblins. Got an Arachnarok Spider, some Squigs and Squig Herders, for other Destruction models for the new book I have the Troggoths, one Sourbreath and 6 Fellwaters.
Thought of looking for the Spider Riders on eBay, about 20 will do nicely and I might as well buy from Games Workshop after looking, £37.99 for 20 with some damages, might as well pay the £40 for fresh ones from GW.
Might just stick with the Troggoth and Squig mix but Spiders are useful for the heavy terrain boards.

    Planning lists.
Notably, a Tau list for a 1500 pts tournament
    and
a Nighthaunt list (1500 pts) - almost only cavalry

I'm curious to test the last one on the battlefield… probably not so strong, but should be fun to play

Back from a 40k tournament at our game shop, with a player coming from Milan (special guest from the Big Town!).
I took the 2nd place on 8, and the special guest won the tournament, teaching to us (and to me in particular) how you must play Tau to be competitive.

Today, I built a pool and several “rock” piles on my Carnosaur’s base, then primed the model with my airbrush. Also assembled 12 skinks and a single ripperdactal (started magetizing the stand).

Spent yesterday and today tidying up the Slann Starmaster and Razadon prior to gluing. Damn resin; I might have well carved them from scratch lol.
