    Ok, here we go.
I finished them (well.... almost) and here are some pictures and explanations:

First of all: All the parts of one model.
    20180921_194647.jpg

and another shot in which you can see most of the magnet locations.
The rider is glued to the mount in a way so he doesn't prevent the head from being attached.
You will also notice that I marked the parts with a black marker (in this case an "I" so I see which parts belong to which model) 20180921_194829.jpg

The assembled Terradon with the Bola....

    20180921_195022.jpg

The arm is slightly longer because it isn't thick enough to drill a hole for the magnet into it. So I just painted one magnet bronze like the wrist band, and one blue like the arm. 20180921_195035.jpg

    ...and with the Javelin.
I messed up the shoulder a bit, and the model has a few visible seams. On the table they are almost invisible though.
The little square metal part on the arm is the sawblade part for the Ripper rider's shield to attach to.

The Skink's arm is not attached to the ring naturally, but it is assembled in a way so it looks like it is, at least from most angles.
Keep in mind that most of the time that model is viewed from above. So if it doesn't fit perfectly seen from below that isn't as severe.

    And here is the Ripper.
As mentioned earlier the Ripper has the Terradon claws on the wings. It is not impossible to make them interchangeable, but it is tedious and IMO not worth it.

And lastly here are some more detail pictures of some of the attachable parts:

The flying stand is made of a metal rod, and I sawed off the tip of the original part.
It is not glued in, the tail parts just have a small ball of poster putty in them.

So I hope this helps if you want to build convertible Terradons/Rippers yourselves.
If you have questions, just ask. :)

Great work on your conversions! Very nicely done, I especially like the wing designs and a good job painting on them as well! I like trying to do that with certain models too. You get the most out of your set and have more models and options to play around with. o_O:happy:

    Thanks!
I guess it is the engineer in me that wants to make the most use of all those parts and just thinks: "what if I made that convertible?" :)

This looks amazing! Are the magnets strong enough to keep the arms connected (during play)?

Yes, easily. As long as you don't shake the model like crazy they hold them in position quite well.

Interested in how you made the stands. I can't get the ones that came with the kit to keep the models in position without gluing them to the model, and that makes transport a bitch...

For my version you need the original ones, but it is possible to achieve the same thing without them.

    Here's what I did:
Cut the very tip and bottom off. Drill a small (1mm or so) hole into them, a couple of millimeters deep.

Take the metal rod (I think it is 1mm) and glue the two parts onto it.

Glue the bottom part into the base, but don't glue the ball-shaped tip into the Terradon's bomb or the Ripper's body. Instead use a small amount of poster putty to attach it.
    Poster putty is magical. :)

Make sure to put a weight (a coin or washer) under the base to counter the weight.

If you don't have the original clear stands:

Use a sprue part and a file to make something that fits into the hole of the stone ruin part that is glued onto the base. Drill the whole for the steel rod into there.

For the top it is more complicated, as you will need something that fits both the Ripper, (which has only a hole in its body to put the stand into) and the Terradon (where the bomb has the hole).
I would probably take a sprue part and make it the color of the Ripper's belly, or maybe black.

I have all the original parts. Poster putty is where I failed previously it seems. Makes sense to use something sticky that won't dry hard over a few hours and is still easy to remove at the end of the game. Could you post any close ups of how the putty is applied to not look awefull?

    Here are some detail shots.

The white little ball is the poster putty. As you can see you really don't need much.
If it stays in the hole afterward just scrape it out using a toothpick, that's not hard. Reshape it to a tiny ball and you are ready to assemble it again.
Assemble it with a bit of pressure, and it will easily be adhesive enough to hold the model in place quite well.

I think it can be done even better, by drilling the small hole into the bomb or so, but it looks decent and isn't a lot of work.

That looks really promising. I'll give it a crack for sure. Thanks.

Here is my attempt at assembling

Now I have some progress to show:

I magnetized them so I can change between the Terradon or the Ripperdactyl. I have done just one for now. I used magnets between all part. between the tail and the body there is also a iron pin to strengthen the body once build and on the stake. [IMG]

For the Shield I cut away the middle 'spike' on the arm and drilled a hole with a cut off paperclip, then inserted a Tiny piece of paperclip. So without a shield it looks just like the normale spike. In the Shield I used a magnet.

Here are all the pieces apart:

I still need to add the collar to the Teradons neck and then glue the body of the skink to the body of the 'Bird'

    Grrr, Imrahil
