Well, I'm running a little late for the Jan-Feb story contest, but I figured I'd post this anyway. No, this is not a complete story. I'll add more to it as time permits, but in the meantime I welcome comments. Figured I'd post this in .pdf form since that seems to be the more secure and openly accessible.

Cool story. But how do you pronounce the protagonist's name?

I usually pronounce it "Tick-yah-pick." It has been too long since I've done phoenetic spelling to try that, so I won't. "Tick'ee-aa'pick" would work as well. The name was kind of a joke originally, being a shortened version of "Take your pick," but it sort of stuck. It is the name I use for my Skink Priest in my Seraphon army. He's been around for a while, being an old metal mini - the metal Skink Priest from several editions ago with the baby stegadon skull for a hat and the arrows in his hand. Originally he was painted bright blue. With the white skull-hat, it made him look like a smurf, which led my opponents to call him "Papa Smurf" or "Smurf Priest." It is also why I chose to go with green and red for my new Seraphon army. Didn't take too long to strip the old paint off and re-prime him.
