Are those... real scratches or did you paint them on?
    Either way they look great!

They are real, first attempt at using chipping medium. I can see how it would be very easy to make some cool effects with it. Next time I think I would edge highlight the whole thing first before doing it.

    Awesome!
I totally see how I could use that for undead for example.

My plan next time would be...

Base coat metallic > highlight > matt medium > chipping medium

First colour > highlight > chip > matt medium > chipping medium

Second colour > highlight > chip > matt medium

That would give a nice layered effect as if two layers of paint have been chipped through and give some more depth to the effect, and save messing with trying to highlight afterwards.

Very good tool to have in the collection anyway!

You can use hairspray to achieve the same results ;)

I tried it, I prefer a more targetted effect.

Yes, that is the old tried method. Makes me ponder, if "chipping medium" existed 20 years ago?

Today, I would recommend chipping medium over hairspray, due to you can get them in different types, from light chipping to heavy chipping. This makes it much simpler to get the effect you desire. (Note. This is if you have to buy the hairspray, if you or your better half has one lying around, use it :D

I was going to make a wooden display plinth, but decided this was far more apt...

Another Megaboss done, this one is magnetised to his base so he can be attached to the back of the spider when she is finished.
