Precisely. I can't give them points on cinematography when I can't see what is going on!

Hmmm... wouldn't that kind of logic also say Star Trek TNG was bad because "Nemesis" kinda sucked?

For me they're not the same for several reasons. Firstly, you have to make a distinction between the TNG show and movies. Second, TNG is more episodic in nature, where each episode (or movie) can stand on its own. GoT is one extremely long cohesive story. So a bad TNG episode or movie does not really effect the rest of the franchise nearly as much. The same is not true for GoT, which for me is essentially ruined (not the books of course, they could still be saved... if they are ever finished).

Fair point. Star Trek has bad episodes but overall it is pretty great. In one cohesive story you could potentially "kill" the story by including something really bad (or just very different).
Tangent: that's something I disliked about the Lord of the Rings. In the end Tolkien basically destroys his world (Gandalf and most of the Elves leave, Mordor is destroyed forever and so on). I like to think about how I would live in the world of a fantasy or SciFi story I like, during or after the story. Kinda like fanfics are born. In Tolkien's world things change quite drastically in the end so some elements are just gone. Prequels of any kind are almost impossible (which is both good and bad).

    Red pill.

Marvel and Star Wars. I don't care for The Walking Dead particularly, but the first two decide it for me.

Especially with the utter collapse of GoT season 8.
