My wife also painted one of the Bloodbound from the Shadespire set as a black dude, and I do like how the dark skin contrasts with the weapons.
The only downside is that compared to white guys you can't paint blood splatters on the skin that easily.

What color did you use for the black skin?

Mix of Vallejo charred brown and mephiston red, follows by a black wash.
.he wanted them to have "reddish brown uruk hsi type skin"
