Hold on a minute, you’re giving your High Elves round bases!

How are you going to use them in Fantasy? War of the Ring Movement Trays?

Movement trays if necessary. They will be subbing in as Freeguild guard (Spearmen) and some other Archer unit (archers)

2 imperial french Hussars, 1/72 scale. Uniformed as the 6th Hussars, 2nd squadron

Vive l’Empreur! They look like the Italeri ones, they generally make nice figures.

I also love my 1/72 figures, and will get round to painting some of my ancients at some point in preparation for getting the Hail Caesar rules.

Are you thinking of using your French in Black Powder or another ruleset?

Might be worth playing both to see which ruleset your group likes best.

Regardless, using 1:72 figures over 28mm certainly allows you to field larger armies in a smaller space, and I’m certainly all for it. The Warlord plastics are great, and I’ve got some I’m going to use in their ancients skirmish game SPQR, but for larger games around the sizes Hail Caesar and Black Powder cater for, 1:72 figures are both cheaper to buy and easier to batch paint in larger units.
