Hm, not sure how I feel about these new Aelves having "sunmetal" Spears that "flare into life with the solar energies they have absorbed." That's our thing!! Damn, born-again pointy-ears!
No no, it's sunmetal which absorbs sunlight. So it's innert if they don't leave them out to recharge! Our weapons are Celestite, metal made from the stuff of the cosmos, so it is always charged with the light and power of the stars. As has always been, elves imitate their betters, but only half as well.
Also, prices for the characters. Confirmed by someone local who still gets prices in the mail. Sylvaneth Druanti The Arch-Revenant €30 £22.50 $35 Skaven Warlock Bombardier €22.50 £17.50 $30 Flesh-Eater Courts Abhorrant Archregent €22.50 £17.50 $30 Vokmortian Master Of The Bone-Tithe €22.50 £17.50 $30 Gloomspite Gitz Loonboss On Giant Cave Squig €30 £22.50 $35 Ogor Mawtribe: Tyrant €25 £20 $30
Nice! They're actually cheaper than I expected. Good on you GW for learning from past mistakes, haha! Still surprised the tyrant is one of the cheaper ones tho, and WTH is the Arch-Revenant one of the more expensive ones?! ...guess the stupid little beetle thing upped the price lol
While 30 is still kind of steep for one character in my mind, it is much better than what the scalpers have asked..... The Sylvaneth is also a pretty intricate sprue. Probably asking more for him because he may be on two smaller sprues, but not the $40+ pricetag as normal. I don't know, I've never looked at it's sprue.
meh, individual minor heroes like this basicly always feel overpriced. Anything over €10,- for a single model on foot, that isn't even particularly big or intricate, just seems excessive. I mean just look at the tyrant, you can get 3.5 gluttons for €25,- and its not like the tyrant is 3 times the size of a glutton or is a super fancy intracite model compared to a glutton. This always makes it feel weird. Hell, the new underworlds oger warband is just as expensive & that one comes with cards a couple of extra grots & a frost sabre. GW pricing makes no sense whatsoever.. It always makes me curious why they don't make some smaller bundles, or even just a "buy X & Y together, get 10% off" kinda thing. I wouldn't be surprised if they'd sell more, and most importantly develop a whole lot of good-will and loyalty, if they did that. Say in the case of the tyrant, give a tyrant + 3 gluttons for €40,- or something. The actual discount is minor & it's not like the start collecting sets where it's such an amazing deal that with 2-3 sets (and some minor kitbashing) you have a functional army for half the prize of buying everything seperatly, but it feels a hell of lot more fair than 25,- for a single model.
I would never buy those super expensive models anyway. £25 for a lieutenant you say? Thanks, but no thanks I say. Realistically, most people who have the time to paint warhammer figures, probably don't have that much money. Unless they inherited the money. I know someone is going to say, I work 200 hours a week, and paint 6 hours a night etc. Ok ok, I get different people have difference circumstances. I am saying that for most people, price is a factor. At least in part. I could buy anything on the GW website. Its just that I prefer buy 5 things, instead of 1 thing. Even if i end up spending the same. Most people probably think like that, I am guessing. With that said, I bulk buy the starter sets, also the old sets where possible. Because I like to sit in a room with 100's of plastic models I will never use, rather then a room full of models I actually wanted and was motivated to paint.
To each their own. But those models are amazing from a design standpoint, and flavorful in lore. Each warbands is petty intriguing and the stories behind then are just as good. Splintered Fang all the way.
This is going to sound rude, and probably a bit silly... But that's completely backwards, and you make some pretty perplexing statements. Why have so many models you aren't going to use, and possibly didn't even want? I'd much rather have models I love, lavished attention on, and bought because I love them. That makes sense monetarily and from a hobby perspective. Why does what you do make any sort of sense? You're free to reply to this and we can talk about it elsewhere. But this is the sort of defacto News topic here. So I won't go into it further.
hmmm... I don't really know. The idea of spending sixty pounds on one model, when I can spend it and get a whole bunch of models. That's what I mean though, you are different kind of consumer. To you a £25 single model makes sense, if you like him. To me I look at the Dark imperium box set and say, that liutenant looks close enough for me. Or this Saurus conversion is easily close enough to the sunblood for me. If I was pro painter, and I was entering competitions, and prepared to spend hundreds of hours painting one model, then it would make sense to me maybe. What I am starting to learn about models is, over time what I like changes anyway.
I suppose that's fair. At any rate, the news is a bit dry this week. We won't even know what the Warcry cards look like until Saturday.
Very true. Not too many bloggers/YouTubers who get review copies of stuff go through the small items like the Warcry cards. I only know of one YT channel, Sword n' Steele, and even then, the YouTuber usually goes through just one pack per vid and releases one vid a day for them. By that time, I might as well get my own on that Saturday. Hopefully I'm wrong tho and someone out there previews them before the release.
Yes her subs have grown very fast indeed. She is very hard worker! well done! So glad that mintitures are finally moving away from the stereo typical reviewer type, and now finally more deserving, talented people are getting their day in the sun! Oh wow, fantastic content! And this is wonderful as well! Two bats gaming only has 10k subs. I really think she deserves more!
She got a significant boost from a small debacle involving Green Stuff World being overly zealous with their color shift paints brand. Also, he wasn't talking about there counts, but what they review. Most channels don't bother reviewing peripheral materials to the books of the game.
Well I did find something, 99% sure that it was something pirated or something similar as the script was likely Russian. Couldn’t screen cap it because the the page was buggy as hell. I did find what looked like parts of warscroll cards, namely for saurus knights and stuff on the carnosaurs
Here is what I could make out; saurus knights went to 3 wounds and a 4+ save. Their main weapons (presumably the rider weapons) have rend So blades are 3 attacks 1” 3+ 3+ rend 1 damage one Lances appear to be 2 attacks 2” 3+ 3+ rend 1 damage one Jaws appear to hit and wound on 4+ Cold one bites seem unchanged it also seems that blazing Lances may trigger on 5s rather than 6s
