We had a woodpigeon nesting in one of our trees that was so bad at nesting that when it tried to lay an egg in the nest, it dropped straight through the bottom of it because the twigs were so far spaced out and landed in the flowerbed directly beneath it, which was where we found it. By then it had probably gone cold, so we put it out in the more feral part of our front garden for a fox to find.
