I started playing Warhammer in 2nd Edition, in my buddy's basement with Ral Partha figures and not much of an idea what we were doing. I kept it up through 3rd and 4th, skipped 5, played a lot of 6th and 7th, and then dropped it due to a lack of opponents. I wasn't playing when they blowed up the world so I missed the first part of Age of Sigmar.
Recently, my son got to be old enough to play these sorts of games and to ask questions about all the models I have on the shelf. We tried out the current AoS ruleset and I was pleasantly surprised. He didn't mind my Goblins or Chaos or Empire (Cities, that is) but pretty soon he wanted his own force.
He likes sharks and thinks skeletons are cool but his two favourite things are dinosaurs and astronomy so you can see where this is going.
I am rebasing and repainting my old armies and I'll post those here as I go, but to start with, here's the first thing he finished from the Start Collecting Seraphon box he got for his 8th birthday.
