Index INDEX - WFB armies and the forum members who play them!

What a great idea - at a glance we shall now know what non-Lizardman armies each and every Fantasy player on the forum plays!

In my case they are:
Dwarfs (as you all probably know by now :D:oldman:)
Orcs and Goblins
High Elves
Skaven

I also have the 8th Edition Tomb King Book and thoroughly enjoy reading it, though as of yet I don’t have any miniatures. If I ever do get some I’ll make another post here and you can add me to the Tomb King list.

Nice! I like the spread of the armies. @NIGHTBRINGER needs to update the index!

I thought you had a Vampire Counts army? ( ;) )

Too bad. I like mixing VC and Tomb Kings, especially with the Lore of Undeath.

Good luck when I smash your pathetic Undead Legions with combined Chaos! ;) It's an unfair system. Warriors of Chaos were already one of the top armies in the game and in End Times they are granted an even greater selection of amazing options?!?! And don't get me started on combined Elves, which is comprised of three of the top armies in the entire game (2 of which are in the top 3).

In any event, I made this thread for main sequence armies + Chaos Dwarfs (who have an army list like any other army). End Times combined armies are beyond the scope of the index.

I am a hypocrite. You see, Undead Legions are fair, but combined elf and Chaos armies are right out!

Anyway, the CCP virus has made my table top gaming even harder. My friend and I were and technically still are planning a super crazy grand army game of 10,000 points or so where we both field pretty much every model we have and our army combinations would make no narrative sense.

Dwarfs, O&G, and Warriors of Chaos against Lizardmen, Empire, and Undead Legions.

I probably need to buy more cannons. I only have three. With this load out, I probably want six....

That's the problem with End Times, the boosts that armies got were highly uneven and in no way based on need. Some of the best armies received the greatest boosts to their power level, while weaker armies like Bretonnia and Orcs & Goblins got nothing.

I feel that End Times is a terrible system. Game balance got significantly worse and the lore sucks. People are free to enjoy it (although I know very few that do), but it is not part of 8th edition in my books!

I cannot argue with your statement though I choose to cherry pick what I like and ignore what I don't like.

I like that Undead Legions do not require you to take a specific lore of magic like Tomb Kings and Vampire Counts do. I like the dynamics that UL provides versus VC.

I always felt Tomb Kings is low on raw power and competitive Vampire Counts are low on variety. Combining them fixes this.

I largely agree (Thorgrim did not get stabbed in the back by Snickh when he just got to the top of the Karaz-a-Karak staircase, he is alive and well ), though I do like the additional Skaven units in Thanquol (the only End Times book I have), as their release essentially gave Skaven their equivalent of an 8th Edition release, plus the alteration of Ambush and the provision of Marks for the Beastmen, as the former rule really needed a rework and the latter was a nice extra for them. Like @Scalenex I'm happy to cherry-pick.

That's a good point in that it really supported the most powerful armies to make them even more powerful (WoC, Dark Elves and High Elves) and did very little to buff weaker armies apart from the tweaks to Beastmen. We should have at least got a Warhammer: Louen book where the Bretonnians go bonkers, raise a massive army and defeat and annex the Empire... :D

But I am sure that you don't like the idea of mixing Tomb Kings models and Vampire Counts models on the battlefield!
