Here comes the Coalesced Temple-host from Ulgu, the realm of shadows. Here comes the Syrass Fangs.

I have seen many beautiful armies here and there. Lots of colourfull, brightfull, truefull lizards theme but not many black one. And when I think black lizard, I can't stop myself thinking about Syrass. A Kalimsshar's creation from the role playing game Prophecy. They are wonderful wizards as well as killing beast machines... just like our Seraphon. Well they are quite on the bad side but who cares when you look gorgeous...

The dark nature of the Syrass make Ulgu the best place to settle my Constellation. They are masters of manipulations, plots and shadows.

With that in mind, I feel like an MSU guerilla like cohort is a good starting point to build my army. As I want to play nice but not competitive with my friends, I thought Coalesced would be a good point too but far from the guerilla tricks in the different Starhost.

I still have more questions about playstyle and friendly army composition so this post will probably be edited. You're welcome to comment and criticise my posts.

Here are my two test models and I think I'm close to be done with them.




Basically,it's a dark grey shade with blue, red tatoos, Mithril metals and sort of obsidian touch.
I want to make a temple like base before gluing the model but I'm not sure how to glue the lads once the base slit is clogged.

I'm in love. Would you share you recipe for the skin/scale colour?
I wanted something a bit more monochromatic to focus the eye on the red tattoos so I skip the gold for silver.

Alas, back i the days i was not into painting, i commissioned them. The guy told me what he used but for the life of me, after more than 3 years, i don't remember.

Hi!
A quick come back to say I'm not taking a sun bath far away from the hobby... First there is no sun here, second there is too much hobby cause I'm on my Death army and the beginning of a Cities of Sigmar army too. I don't forget you fellow lizards.

Two things to share and one question:

I have done a new test model a bit darker. To speed up my painting I have decided to not make the bottom part of the lizard with an other colour as we don't see it in game. I have added a darker grey on the scale before the blue wash. No more wash on the metal, just a silver highlight.



So, now the question. As my army strike/come from Ulgu the shadow realm I want a base to match this realm. I don't want to go the jungle way, nor the wild countryside. Maybe more a city/temple theme, maybe some marsh touches, or maybe some mist/fog (I don't know how to do that).
In your opinion what would be interesting to do to make those minis pop out?

The second thing to share is that I will definitely go for MSU play style with a strong elite feel (even if some are not so strong) as Terradon, Chameleon, Kroxigor, Salamander. No knights, Stegadons or Bastiladons. I have my ideas to proxy my salamanders and will make print my Krox...more on it later.

Slabs was on the top of my idea list. Something made with egg box cardboards, it gives a nice rough rocky texture, on one or two level to add variation. Black with a dark red dry brush. And of course those crystals made of sprue (turquoise or blue)

Get something that will look like rubble or volcanic rock and then dry brush with a light color. I can visualize it and I think it will make your models pop.

Hello,
I have bought second hand minis and now I have enough skink or so

With those 60 I can make 40 men horde plus two small units or go crazy with 6 units to play MSU. The round bases are coming soon

And today was a kitbash crafting one with my first unit of Saurus guard

.

Here is the recipe: second hand saurus warrior heads and bodies, Saurus guard weapons and shields, tomb king musician and icon, some skulls on the shield and the weapon.

That is an excellent haul of second hand minis... looking forward to seeing them painted!
