Rogue One plugs the plothole of ‘if the Death Star was supposed to be indestructible, why did it have a weakness?’. The film plugs that plothole by inferring that the designer was a Rebel sympathiser who wanted to give the Alliance the best chance of destroying it without the Empire finding out and undoing what he did (Galen Erso).

The Prequels are better in this department because:
    1. The Separatists have lore-based reasons why their basic troops are crap. Battle Droids were purposefully designed with poor-quality targeting mechanisms to be as cheap as possible to make (read: Made in China), and designed with spindly bodies to make them as cheap and easy to store as possible, because like most businesses the Trade Federation want as much as possible for as little money as possible. With the Stormtroopers on the other hand the lore contradicts their performance in the films - they’re made out to have gone through rigorous and efficient training in the Imperial Academies (they quickly defeat the Rebel Troopers in the Tantive IV) and Obi-Wan describes them as being ‘precise’, yet as soon as the main heroes turn up they become the very opposite of that, somehow missing Han at point-blank range several times and generally being utterly useless. Sequel Trilogy Stormtroopers have it even worse because Hux states they were ‘trained from birth’ yet they are similarly incompetent.
    2. To outweigh their crap baseline troops, the Separatists have other units that are pretty good. Super Battle Droids can take several blaster bolts and keep coming, Droidekas are pretty much immune to small-arms fire and can only be killed with starfighter-grade weaponry and Magnaguards can survive being beheaded by a Lightsaber. Not exactly pushovers. Rogue One also does this with the Death Troopers - as soon as these guys appear on the battlefield the heroes start dying in droves.
    3. While the Clone Troopers are more expendable than, say, the Jedi, they prove themselves to be vastly superior to the Battle Droids they fight, and in a simple grindfest they’d win easily due to their superior equipment and genetic modifications. Indeed to this day they still remain the best faction troops of Star Wars without a doubt because they were bred to be as high-quality fighters as possible.

Your other points are valid but I disagree with this one./\

The Death Star being "indestructible" is not a plot hole anymore than in the real world the Titanic was "unsinkable." The Death Star is a metaphor for the human condition and also authoritarian regimes tend to be overly confident about their super weapons.

There is a theory that the Stormtroopers missed the heroes on purpose in that movie, the idea being that Vader wanted them to lead him to the Rebellion's base.

Of course it proves your point, as he wasn't a credible threat at all.

I made a meme out of a factoid I learned recently about Sir Patrick Stewart.

I will be resuming my efforts at meme-hunting as soon as I have my Slann project under control, so at least it will be something to tide you over until the return of the Master-Memer himself.... @NIGHTBRINGER

So it's the 50th anniversary of Lucas Film. Hasbro is releasing a bunch of new toys. Jar Jar is getting a new action figure and Rey is not.

    Now Disney's failure is complete...

Details in this video but probably not necessary.

Funnily enough Jar Jar figures are desirable among collectors because they are so rarely seen, due to Hasbro knowing about the character’s low popularity. As a collector myself I know the last 3.75” Jar Jar figure was made in 2012 (I have one, and the upcoming one is a 6” figure) and when that line ceased production I noticed the remaining Jar Jars went like hot cakes. Compare this to the world-renowned scene of Sequel Trilogy action figures shelf-warming for years after they were first produced, and we can see the silent majority’s response toward the Sequel Trilogy in full flow.

I also think there is a (not so gradual) shift of kids not playing with action figures these days. Admittedly, this doesn't affect the collector market, but I think it accounts for some of the low toy sales. That, and the Force is weak with the sequels as well.

    This is the last straw.

(this video is short and to the point)

    (this video is more detailed)

Mahrlect Disney! Mahrlect Disney straight to Chaos! Disney can suck a lemon, nay Disney can suck many lemons.

Disney thanked a slave running arm of the CCP that was operating dozens of concentration camps. Disney sidelines black characters to market to the CCP's racist puppets. Now Disney fires a strong woman because she doesn't tow the SJW narrative, never mind that the CCP routinely endorses racism, sexism, and homophobia all the time, but Disney keeps licking the boots of Xi Jinping, so they only "take a stand" when taking a stand appeases the Twitter mobs but does not offend CCP censors. Disney is run by unprincipled, cowardly hypocrites.

Until and unless Disney purges their ranks of all the SJW Puritans, I am not paying a dime to watch anything owned by Disney. It's going to take some sacrifice because Disney makes things I like, but I'm boycotting Proctor and Gamble (and they offended me far less than this!).

The only thing I will consider buying from Disney is Winnie the Pooh merchandise and then only if I can find some means to publicly display it somewhere.

I'm sorry @NIGHTBRINGER, but Star Wars is dead to me now.

Yeah, the whole Gina Caano affair left a very better taste in my mouth. What i feel is frustration, frustration and anger and impotence (well, in the sense that i am impotent against this kind of injustice, apart from boycotting, which really matter if A LOT of people will do the same)

I’m not fussed about this personally. Andor and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series still have great potential.

Only if these are also ruined will I join the ‘Star Wars is dead’ crew.

I thought about adding the line "Mahrlect those who don't mahrlect Disney" but thought better of it. Disney crossed my line. You are all free to draw your own lines in the sand.

Yeah, I admit I’ve made that mistake on here sometimes in my glorious defence of the Prequel Trilogy, sorry everyone

I realise now that dissing people who diss your favourite stuff doesn’t turn them to your side, it simple makes them more adamant to diss your favourite stuff, and possibly yourself into the bargain.

I’m simply willing to give Disney two more chances of doing something good with Star Wars (especially as the Mandalorian isn’t one of my chances as I’m not enthusiastic about it, I owe them one). Rogue One was great, so I’m hoping Andor will follow in its footsteps, and I’m always game for anything that links to the Prequel Trilogy, so the Obi-Wan series is a must-watch too. I just hope they’re released on DVD so I don’t have to subscribe to Disney+ just to watch them.

If they fail with these too, I will join you in advocating Disney’s failure.

Even if millions of people unsubscribe from Disney+ this week, Disney is not going to go bankrupt.

I just want Disney to lose enough money to make them send out a company memo "Hey, let's ignore Twitter mobs demanding we cancel people. We lose money and credibility that way."

I don't want to see actors, writers, directors, and producers "cancelled" for their political views or even their lack of political views.

Let's not forget, I've been (presumably) boycotting Disney for longer than you. The last Disney movie I paid money to see was Solo. Of equal importance, I have not spent a single penny on Disney Plus (and would only consider doing so if Kathleen Kennedy was eliminated).

Welcome to the club, its good to have another ally fighting for our cause. :)

I guess we can expect no better from an SJW trash heap of a company like Disney. I decade ago I loved Disney, now I hate them with a passion.
