Did GW ever give us an errata or something on our 8th edition lizardmen armybook? I mean official stuff, not ETC or fanbased? If so where can i find it?
Thought so, me and my friends are having endless discussions about the kroak spell, Bruning alligment from the engine of the gods and Predatory fighter rule .
Well it does not solve your problem, but I'd say that even if you play with the strongest interpretations of Kroak's spell, Burning alignment and Predatory Fighter, they are not overpowered. So unless your friends are just a bit sadistic towards the lizards, I think they should allow it. At any rate, you should get an agreement in place, maybe even a written one, so you are always clear on how you agreed to interpret the effects.
It seems some friends are hard headed, nothing i can do about it though, if you read the rules and imply them like it is written, i'm in the loss...
Follow up question, if salamanders spout flames and they inflict a wound causing an enemy model to be removed. Does that enemy unit have to take a panic test? It says fires as a firethrower, but doesn't say the other rules apply from a firethrower. Think i might have gone crazy reading rules over and over again...
My gaming group has had the exact same conversations and we have concluded: 1. Predatory fighter only effects the first row (we have played both ways and it makes little practical difference in battle which is why I was happy to concede this) 2. After I presented the European tabletop championships 2015 FAQ on kroak/burning alignment - we play it as a bubble that effects all units, even those in combat. I believe this is how it was in 7th edition also. They conceded that due to the amount of rules in my army book that don’t make sense and contradict other rules (such as making reference to tiqtaq’to leading a unit even though flyers can’t lead units etc...) it made sense to lean on other sources to reach a ruling rather than to go with a strict RAW approach. It is to be noted that @ASSASSIN_NR_1 is correct - even if you play these with the strongest interpretations, they are not overpowered at all compared to spells other armies have access to.
@Pieter Smeyers there is also a 8th Edition FAQ as part of the WFB Battle Bible. I can't remember where I got it from, but you should google this and let me know by PM if you can't find it.
