we would need clarification then, because I understand it to be every wound that doesn't kill the model grants depravity... if that were the correct ruling then one wound models cant generate depravity due to having no wound they could take without dying. if not then the best thing you could do would be to bring wound canceling effects like Astrobear

So it's no longer just heroes that generate DP then. That explains why everything is so expensive since literally everything can potentially generate points. Not sure how well that will work in practise, given that AoS generally revolves around maximizing damage and oneshotting things. But in theory that should mean a rather high volume of points being generated.

O sure, you need to pick some convention. Just wouldn't have picked this convention personally.

I prefer having the real numbers (alongside standard deviation and such) as it tends to give a neater curve. It also shows a clearer distinction between say 1.5 and 2.49 both of which go into the discreet 2 bucket in your case.

Different rounding, similar skewing due to the use of discreet buckets. Either way, you can a point difference simply by two examples falling just on the wrong side of the rounding. e.g. 1.49 v.s. 2.5 will fall into the buckets 1 & 3 this way, which makes it appear as if there's a two point difference, while really the difference is only 1 point.

The myrmidons actually also have a slightly better hit (4+'s vs 3+ for greatblades) or better rend (- vs -1 for hand weapons), so they get slightly more for those 60 points. So totally worth it now :p

And like I mentioned earlier, I think they're paying a significant tax for the fact that literally everything generates DP now. If that's worth it or not in practise I'm not sure. But at least in theory I can see where they're coming from. I'm interested to see how that's going to play out.

God is everything expensive in this army. Anyway, they do seem to be better than the hellstriders. The blissbarbs and daemonic cavalry options also seem better. So imho the hellstriders just kinda suffer from there being too much cavalry on top of everything in this army paying a summoning tax.

that would be an inconsistent as hell standard as for the most part only odd damage outcomes would generate depravity on 2 wound models and that's just not a feasible method of generating any sort of benefit

I believe I have been unclear... allow me to explain better my understanding, as I don't see it as complicated at all. you havea 2 wound model that takes 2 damage, either from one 2 damage wound or two 1 damage wounds. the damage is allocated one at a time at a certain step in the combat phase. so the first damage resolved against your two wound model fails to kill it, generating 1 depravity. the second damage resolved against it kills it, resulting in no depravity generated.

essentially take your models wound stat, and subtract one... that's how many points the HoS could generate off that model.

Then that would be broken beyond measure you could just send in 3 slickblades get them killed and get 15 depravity points that's a keeper or 30-40 deamonets

which explains why the models are expensive points wise. and Slannesh summoning has ALWAYS been broken compared to others.

I believe the way it works is you get a single depravity point for every unit thats "under full strength" or has taken a wound if its a multi wound model.
    • Depravity Points are generated at the end of any Battleshock phase, at a rate of 1 point for each unit that was dealt a wound or mortal wound and not negated, or ended up with fewer models in it than it started the turn with in which, during the turn
I don't know if i'd call it broken, but theres an opportunity to build a list that really leans into it. Looks like 12 points gets you a keeper or 30 daemonettes, and it shouldn't be insanely hard to get 12 over 2 turns with the right list. That list might be hot garbage, but its a cool mechanic IMO.

That is what I thought. Best way you could have used it is hitting your own units with endless spells like zeench does even then 8 points a turn would be pushing it and you would have to be careful of units getting one shotted with your paper defenses

Ally in a GUO for that sweet sweet depravity (assuming it works on allies). Plague Wind is a depravity generating machine, and he can mortal wound himself when casting spells.

I think we'll see some really interesting lists that revolve around just trying to hit that ~12 points every turn.

Looks a bit like the vultures Tzeentch has.

One point per unit suffering a wound that turn, but survived, could spin out of control extremely rapidly. A list that optimizes that could be fun and super powerfull.

However, probably not tournament worthy, if you happen to run into an opponent that doesn't mix well with that your list is screwed.

Depravity happening at the end of the Battleshock phase also means that if you smash enough of the unit, they may just flat out run, leaving no depravity generation if they're wiped from bravery. Same with Daemonettes possibly regenerating models to full if they roll a 1 with the banner. Only lost 1-2 in a turn, regening those would mean the unit isn't wounded any longer.

Given that the text is "suffered" I think regening would be allowed. In fact, regenerating that wound so you can suffer more seems rather on point for Slaanesh.

The wording posted does say that if the wound was not negated it counts. It doesn't talk about regenerating wounds for multiwound models.
But what has been posted about units with one wound per model means they have to be under strength to generate the point.
    .
Edit: is that the actual text of the rule? I don't have it in front of me.

I think it's from Cursed City, as the bird looks dead. And one of the guys on the website had a cat, bat, and bird around him in his living form.
There's some assumptions that he's going to have undead animals.

The depravity from slaanesh works in the way that you get 1 each turn for each unit that has taken damage but not been destroyed, im pretty sure it doesnt say models as it also says if a unit has less models than it started the turn with so that slay effects still generate depravity.

its very strong especially if you build a list to help you out

Its really good, ive found the book (at least the way i view it wants to play) is very strong if piloted and built well. Its not a dps army where the raw stats do all of the work and you just roll your dice.
The list ive been running wins in the movement phase. The combat and shooting is just for depravity and maintaining optimal board control

Someone post a picture of the text. Imho, healing shouldn't count as negated in this context. Saved should be what counts as negated.
