True, the most I could find online is that R4 was assigned to Obi-Wan, so no claim of possession possible :p

    Grrr, Imrahil

    You can't own droids man.

I never saw Solo, but I understand that there was an obnoxious droid character that spouted how droids were slaves etc, etc and there was a bittersweet scene where she (yep she not it) was dying and her brain got uploaded into the Millenium Falcon computer. Based on the music and cinematography cues the audience was supposed to feel happy thoughts at this moment.

First off, movie Han Solo left a lot of unanswered questions in his backstory (Expanded Universe Han Solo answered a lot of backstory questions in six novels) but I don't think anyone ever asked "Where did the personality of the Millenium Falcon's computer come from?" something that was only mentioned once in Empire Strikes Back)

It was pointed out that for a droid that viewed itself as a free thinking independent entity that thinks service to humans is tantamount slavery, then being uploaded into a ship's computer would be like consigning the droid's soul to an afterlife in Hell where the only thing she could do was serve humans unquestionably for eternity. Essentially she this is Sisphus' boulder but for droids.

If I could like this again, I would.

To be fair, Disney could easily have made a Sequel Trilogy that would have been as good as or even superior to the EU, but they failed thanks to Kennedy, Abrams and Johnson. That’s why they’re hated by the entire fanbase, as opposed to being hated just for getting rid of the EU to make a Sequel Trilogy.

I don't know if I can say that Disney would have made a trilogy superior to the EU, but we'll never know. I didn't totally hate The Force Awakens. It felt rather derivative, but it did seem like it was trying to tell a "hero's journey" in the SW universe. There are specifics that I didn't enjoy and those gave me concern. It was the following movie(s) that really blew it for me.
