I've also got Ogres, but did Daemons of Chaos as my friend already has a WoC army. I also have Tomb Kings and Lizardmen (obviously) armies.

Do an introduction post as well!
 
Will do! I have been thinking about trying deamons for quite some time, so I will look forward to hearing how you like it. I have done an intro, but it was quite a few years back. :)

Well thanks to coronavirus I've been pretty much unable to play for 1 1/2 years now, so I got very little usage out of my collection recently :(

Anyways, definitely looking forwards to content provided by you!

We need more Knights of Eight around! @NIGHTBRINGER we have another of the faithful joining us!
 
Yeah, this damn virus certainly puts a hamper on the hobby, at least the silver lining is everyone will have proudly painted models when we come out on the other side of this thing!

Both have different goodies and different defects.
In favor of 7th, the dominance of magic was less strong (plus, cupped hands of the Old Ones :D) and the warmachines were not lascannon of death, requiring good guess of ranges.

I've heard that 6th edition was better than 7th. (I've never played 6th edition myself though and I only had a handful of games under 7th)

The army book balance was horrible though. Daemons were essentially an auto-win army. Dark Elves were nasty too.
 
I prefer 6th edition even though I started with 8th. My gaming group just started an 8th edition map campaign and I’m lost on what to do with all these options for my ogres.

I was talking more about the system itself.
I've played a small number of 7th games and luckily not against daemons or DE, but yes, balance was a bigger issue.

Post something in the Ogre's thread that I started in the Other Armies subforum!

Give the armies you're going up against and any Ogre generals online (at least myself) can give you some input on what to field.

I waded to the end of this thread and I now have questions. Did you want only armies fielded, any armies collected, or do they only count if they were part of the most sacred and honored eigth edition (but not the wretched end times forces) ??

Notes:
  1. A couple of regiments that were part of other armies.
  2. Right there with you @Warden.
  3. Fielded during 7th and 8th.
  4. Intended to recreate an elf army from before they split into three.
  5. Just a few units that mostly served in the DoW force.
  6. Consisted of Warriors, Minotaurs, Beasts, and a few furies.
  7. Fully painted around 3-4K points.
  8. The core of my Hordes of Chaos force.

I originally created the thread with 8th edition in mind, but to be fair, I suppose any edition of WFB would be fair game.

As for what size/played/collected army counts... that is up to you. You just list which armies you would like in the index and I will add them. Some people, upon their request/description had a "sort of" descriptor added to their entry to denote that they only dabble in the army. I leave it purely up to the discretion of the forum member.

Would you like me to add your name to all the armies you listed above? and would you like a "sort of" descriptor (as seen in the original post) added to any of them?
