Let's Get Motivated - June 2021

...... @Imrahil this feels like some ploy to get me to commit to finishing projects.... I like it! Also, thanks for the shout out for my story :)

So! My goals, rhat I shall try to stay focused on ... *giggles*

1. Start and possibly finish a chapter/ prologue of a story I have begun ( https://www.lustria-online.com/threads/animosity-3-the-hathorians-prologue.25867/#post-373681 / https://www.lustria-online.com/thre...he-feathered-serpent.25725/page-2#post-373722 )

2. finish my set of Wardens

3. Start / Finish my Lumineth War Hippogryph conversion, begin painting by the end of the month.

4. Learn to paint in my sleep

5. Learn better focusing methods/better learn the discipline of finishing projects before my brain sees something new thats shiny (I started this last night by thoroughly cleaning my hobby area of my loose bits and juat having bits that are needed for currrent projects).

6. Read at least 1 LO members story (a month)

3) Magically find a few hundred £££ lying around to fund my new army
4) Give up on 3) and beg/borrow/steal from close family members so that my motivation and inspiration dont abandon me (again)
5) Use the money from 4) to get a start collecting box so I can finally own a carnosaur (or possibly Troglodon) - wanted the model since it was released but never had an excuse to
6) Convert said Carnosaur/Troglodon into an action pose to instil terror in my enemies

I have to Say though, 3&4 ain't looking good atm - I might have to wait until payday for the next part of the project :D

If you learn 4 and 5 please teach me. I might need theese skills to move anything in my army forward
 
Late start this month, but I want to
-finish building an oracle on trog
-build the new kroak
-prime oracle, kroak, 20 chainrasps, 20 bladegeists, Lady olynder, reikenor, and a dreadblade harrow
-finish 20 chainrasps I already have partially painted
 
Small update
My skinks are coming well i just need to acquire a very thin brush for smaller details

I decided a of change plans (suprise I know) for troglodon, as i may get another carnosaur wich will give me a replacement head. (I only have the broken head and my first carno was bougth used since it was cheap and the paintjob only needs few corrections)

Instead i'll start assembleing the drakespawn knights for my saurus knights conversion
 
This month starts on the 23rd right?
I would like to start painting my Haqqislam Army, so for this month
- 3 Ghulam (basic units)
- Start a painting blog in this forum.
I will update in the middle of the month, which means on Friday :D

4 is still a work in progress, much like my models. Although, my sleep pattern may indicte that i am getting closer as sleep occurs less and less!

5... well.... we'll see how this thread goes haha

Update:

1. I have begun working on my prologue again for the Animosity III Campaign coming up for my Hathorians & Lumineth, though its not finished.

I have not begun the second chapter for my Seraphon story, but i do have parts if it mapped out in my head.

2. Wardens are coming along, 3 of them should be finished soon.

3. Have begun painting the Hippogryph (pics in my paint blog) and coming along nicely.

4. No true movement on this one, although, sleep eludes me... so perhaps i am indeed moving forward?

5. I'm not sure, we'll see at the end of the month

6. I haven't read a story yet, though i have a few i am planning to. Have been checking paint blogs though!

All in all definitely moving forward with my goals :)

Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their hobby time

Goals for the month were:

  • Paint and base 1-2 Character models (Either Count Dooku, Cad Bane or Padme Amidala). - DONE. Painted up Dooku and Cad Bane, I've also made a decent start on Padme.
  • Paint and base my Phase 1 clone personnel upgrades. - DONE
  • At least make a start on painting my Republic AT-RT. - NOT DONE. Decided to start Padme instead and have had limited time at the end of the month due to job apllications.

Pretty happy with my work this month.
 
  • Finish the Chameleon Skink from Star blood stalkers All done except bases. one day ill get them finished
  • Mendoza and MO action pack have been started and im working through the base colours
  • Wait for kroak and SBGL: Vampire lord Built and ready to prime

Done! I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out, EXCEPT for the fact that one of the skink arms slipped out of place while it was drying. It looks terrible, and I'm not sure what I can do to fix it, but at least it's not too noticeable if you're not looking for it.
 
Alright the month is over and I would like to announce that I finally succeeded with my resolutions.
The skinks(for now) are finished I will only need to paint some bits like claws, teet and red crests on my alphas but that's for future me to worry about, as far as im concerned they are battle ready.
For my cold ones I shaved and cut off some bits for future modifications.(BONUS: only stabbed myself once so that's a win for me)

Well... I finished the BODY of the Hierotitan... Just need to confront doing the basing.

Didn't start another project.

I finished my short story (novel) and posted it. Now need to do a short story for the competition.
