First batch of six Deathwatch marines is complete! Chapters (counter-clockwise from bottom left): Marines Malevolent, Iron Snakes, Dark Krakens, Stars of Dorn, Ultramarines, and Blackshield
There are very few armies that you can call "my dudes" more than Deathwatch. Customization is basically the basic concept of each deathwatch team.
I agree. There are some fantastic ones out there, Damien Pedley's Deathwatch army come to mind (here, and also here on instagram)
Couple of shots of my custom chapter, The Dread Saurians Chapter Info Brother Dreadnought Army shot 2020 Chapter Master Tyrannus
Nah, those are transfers from the Indomitus kit. I just cut a small section of the checkers off and used one of the crosses for it!
Completed my first full Deathwatch Kill Team! Kill Team Burchard of Sentinel IX: Also happy with the Aggressor I finished recently, member of the Dark Angels Deathwing: Lots of pics in my paint blog, loving how the are turning out.
Interesting recall of (a very small amount of) past horrors. We cannot talk badly about GW playtesters, because they simply never existed.
https://www.warhammer-community.com...nd-out-with-our-road-map-for-warhammer-40000/ well we got the codex road map and i have to say its pretty disappointing. the codecies that really need updating have gotten minimal attention. might be worth taking a hiatus on my tau
One of the Codices to be released in December is Xenos, judging by the artwork on the 'redacted' image and recent rumour engines it could still be Tyranids, especially as Octarius is the current arena of war - it would be retarded to miss Tyranids out of a conflict that featured them so heavily up to now. Either that or Genestealer Cults. Certainly not Craftworld Eldar, Harlequins or Tau because skulls don't fit into their imagery at all
one faction yeah, but given the fact that just about every xenos faction that isnt orks or drukhari is struggling, its a bit of a let down. notably there is also no chaos marines codex which is a big oof, and they have to wait until 2022 to get a second wound
Meh I’m not worried about Chaos. Indeed personally I’m enjoying the lack of Chaos releases at the moment, a real breath of fresh air from the Imperium-vs-Chaos-congested borefest that was 8th Edition. I’m pleased that GeeDubs finally decided to give Xenos some time in the sun. Also, what about Necrons? I’m sure they were made pretty powerful in their 9th Ed Codex
necrons are interesting, and they certainly did get a huge help from their new codex, power creep in 40k has been harsh on them. That said they're miles better than the factions that dont have a 9th edition codex. While seeing 3 xenos factions being competitive is nice, it feels like the rest of them have simply been abandoned or just forgotten.
Well, given that it should be Tyranids in December, let’s hope there’ll be 4 competitive Xenos factions soon. I was thinking back to my time at University, there was a guy in my course who was a real arrogant sod, he was a Dark Eldar player and used to go on and on about ‘Tyranids being shit’ simply because of Dark Eldar having an advantage against them due to Poisoned Attacks whenever he was around me. He used to brag about how he could table Tyranids with a Venom spam list in tournaments. We’ve both left university and gone our separate ways now, but I still think that if Dark Eldar are super-powerful again in the current edition he’s going to be even more of a douchebag now in any club he’s playing in, I feel sorry for those poor people who have to suffer with playing against him.
To have the chance to win a game you need to play a highly optimized build (including Farsight enclaves), exploiting all the available dirty tricks, AND face a casual list. At that point, maybe there's a match. If you don’t make mistakes and the mission is kind to you. It's disheartening Necrons codex is not powerful. It is balanced. Suffers from poor weaponry (d6 dam weapons instead of d3+3), some poor units and weak and convoluted options, alongside with good stuff. But it's low tier among the new codexes.
honestly as depressing as it is to say it, that is pretty much spot on. it feels like the same situation seraphon were in before we got our new battletome, with some tricks that worked but otherwise being left behind by power creep.
