Hi all, I’ve got a campaign upcoming in which I intend to field my Lizardmen (new player to Lizardmen). I’ll be competing with High Elves, Dark Elves, Vamps, Tomb Kings, Chaos dwarves and a few other factions. 2000 point base army with up to 100 pts of magical items on top. No named characters/end times. I’ve prepared the following list, open to critique and suggestions: Slann, level 4. BSB. Becalming cogitation, harmonic convergence, wandering deliberations. Channelling staff. Scar Vet, Cold one, armour of Destiny, GW. Scar Vet, Cold one, Dawn stone, dragonhelm, GW and Light armour. 2 x level 1 skink priests. One beasts one heavens. 2 x 20 saurus warriors. Full command. 2 x 10 skink skirmishers with javelins. 2 x 5 chameleon skinks. 20 temple guard. Full command. 2 x salamanders with extra snacks. Any thoughts, feedback, changes welcomed.
It's a great list for not knowing who you're going up against, but I would switch Salamanders for a Stegadon. For me, no Lizardmen list is complete without a Stegadon, they are really useful in a number of scenarios.
We can expand armies as the campaign progresses, so that was next on my list. Think it’s best to have the Stegadon from the start?
Looks like a solid list. I'm always carefull fielding monsters, they attract shooting. But with the armies you are facing it should only be a problem against the elves.
Assuming an 8th Edition list, Chaos Dwarfs have access to some very nasty shooting. Dreadquake Mortars, Deathshrieker Rocket Launchers and Hellcannons. Overall though, yeah, it's a good all-comers list.
And the Steam Cannonade on the Iron Daemon. That thing can put a hurting on monsters and monstrous units. S6, armour piercing and Multiple Wounds (D3).
