Hi!

As I've said in my introduction post I'm starting my Lizardmen Warband for Mordheim. I've started with a box of skinks and the Starblood Stalker warband for the heroes.


I have some doubts about how to paint the spears, also I'm thinking about removing the club and adding the shield as esthetically I think is better with the shield and I don't like how the weapon ended. Any advice will be welcomed!

Welcome to the community! Glad to have you here, it's a great community to be a part of for sure.

I don't know really anything about that game system within Warhammer, but I personally also prefer the shields over the clubs.

Nice work with the colors on the skin, scales, claws and eyes.
Clean painting.

I am not sure what you are looking for with the spears. If you want to change the spear tips you could go for stone-like spears, but than you want to change the shaft to a wooden brown tone.
Shields add so much to the model ecstatically both in shape as well as an optional different color.

To bring the models even more to life you could go over them adding highlights.

I am not sure what you are looking for with the spears. If you want to change the spear tips you could go for stone-like spears, but than you want to change the shaft to a wooden brown tone.

To add to what Imrahil said, Obsidian is also a good choice, as you can add some more color to it

Thanks everyone! What I meant regarding the spear is what kind of brown in order to make it wood alike. And I have to get some silver in order to light the spears, they seem too plain to me. The box of saurus just arrived so I'll have some new additions pretty soon.

The browns depend on the type of wood you are going with. And the way you paint (with or without washes or just contrast paint)

Right now I'm focusing on the models for the warband, I haven't donde much of terrain but I will upload as soon as I have it done.

Here are 2 new additions to the warband. The spear is still white as I haven't decide how to paint it, specially the tip, golden, silver or obsidian. I also used another technique to paint the gold and I have to say I'll go back to how I did it on the previous models as I think it looks better on them.

After some time without posting here is the advance I've done on my Lizardmen warband. 2 more skinks, this time with obsidian javelins, 2 saurus braves and the Skink Great Crest. I'm not happy with the bow of this last one as I think is too big for the skink.
