Hi all,

I am new to the hobby and wanted to quickly say hi.

My Seraphon army will likely develop slowly over time but that is OK for me.

So far I have the below assembled. I read its a pretty neat combo.
I aim to get them painted with contrasts in the coming weeks / months.

1 x Starpriest
30 x Skink with shields and boltspitters

Some initial questions I was hoping to get opinions on:

-What size army should I aim for to start in terms of points ?
-What other units / models should I think of getting next and that might go well with what I have so far ?

Note : I prefer plastic models & I like the Skink theme but its not a must.

Can't help you with the AoS questions, but make sure you take a good look around the forum as there are lots of gems in the various threads.

There are lots of helpful people in the AoS section who can answer all your questions.

At the moment I am not qualified to give list advice, but I can say:

1000 points is a good start.

I am not at all into AoS 3.0 but it seems to be all (or at least a lot) about monsters.
perhaps Stegadon and Bastiladon are nice additions to keep in the Skink vibe as well.

you'll find plenty of advices and good threads in the AoS section.

If you're new to the game, i't definitely better to start with something around 1000 pts or even 750 if you find someone at your level.
And yes, if you wanna go skinks, pick some other skink for your second battleline, a couple of dinos (start with Stegadon), a priest and a Starseer as general.

I will take your advices and look around the forums a bit more, thanks for the replies.
I will also aim for a 750 / 1000 army to start as those numbers have appeared a few times here.

Would you pick the Stegadon as 1st dino ? I was leaning towards the Bastiladon.

I am painting towards my 1st 1000 point army list now:

2 x Starpriest (1 for the Bastiladon as will run it as Thunderlizards and 1 for the Skink horde)
30 x Skink with shields and boltspitters
1 x Bastiladon with solar engine
1 x Stegadon (running as battleline in Thunderlizards)
985 points (if I calculated correctly)

Its mainly based on models I like and synergies I have heard/read about on YouTube and on this great forum !

Could not fit in a screen, not sure if its super important at 1000 points.

Any criticisms are welcome!

at 1000 pts, it seems to me you'll have a fairly good hittin power.
