Now is the winter of our discontent. Hopefully we can channel some angst into poetic brilliance. The Theme There is none. Choose whatever theme you like so long as it is at least somewhat related to Lizardmen, Seraphon, Salamanders or Saurian Ancients. There is an unofficial theme to make this winter and/or Huanchi focused, but that is a recommendation, not a requirement. The Rules There are none. (Apart from the following)(So in actual fact there are some rules, I lied to you, I am sorry) -Keep your poem to an artistic minimum. Word count wont be stressed about too much in here, but ideally the poem should be more than two lines. -Keep it anonymous. Don't use your own name in the poem or use someone else's name throw them off the scent -Keep Lizardmen in the story or some aspect of their world / lore. -Keep visuals and images to a minimum or none at all this is a poetry competition. -Keep em coming -Multiple entries are allowed from the same person! (limit of three per person though just for sanity's sake) -Submission deadline is January 1st midnight US Central time. To submit, please send a private message to me, Scalenex. The next poetry contest will be near this Summer
Hopefully something springs to mind. As per my usual op basis, I'll try to do a serious one and a funny one if I can.
We have a very severe shortage of poems. What is keeping you. Last year, I was buried in poem entries.
No, if I did the number would be 3.000000001. Anyway, you didn't submit your poem through private message like the instruction said and it did not mention Lizardmen in anyway.
It was not a submission, nor meant to be. It was specifically written for you, to tide you over and to see you through your poetry famine. In your time of greatest need, it was the NIGHTBRINGER that reached out to shield you from the darkness (ironic, given the name). You are incorrect!! Scalenex is clearly a Lizardmen character, as evidenced by...
I see that the fluff & stories section of the forum is not nearly as encouraging or welcoming as the painting section of the LO community. I'll take your silence as a confirmation of my point!
I have three poems? Do you want me to run the contest with three poems or extend the submission deadline?
If extending the deadline means that there will be more poems... but I am not sure it will Grrr, Imrahil
I will extend the deadline to New Years Day. If we don't get more poems. I will post the three we have and will probably suspend future poetry contests
That's a bit drastic tbh... what if there comes a time where there's more excitement for poetry at a later date?
I didn't phrase that well. Right now we have two poetry contests a year. If this one fizzles I as going to cut it back to one poetry contest a year, not zero.
