Congratulations! That's a big step up the Likes ladder!

Now you have to chase down @Scalenex ! (if you can)

I'm figuring that the top 5 is really going to change up over the next few months!

He could probably catch me if he stopped liking my posts. He would certainly catch me if he un-liked my posts.

But that would deny the very thing that makes him Lizards of Renown.

Excellent... I have the perfect place for you to start. We have 3 more lores of magic that need an author to write a deep dive analysis for:

Light, Life or Death... which will it be? (and don't say that you don't have enough experience! :p)

What do you think @Lizards of Renown ?

Well lets start with: "what an honor"
Closely followed by: "but I really don't have the time to dive deep in that sort of material."

(Nothing said about the lack of experience :angelic:)

If you have the time to take a run at my posting percentage, then you have more than enough time to do a deep dive! Share your wisdom! :)

I think that sounds like a great movie description... :D

If he wants to would be great. I don't think he even know the rules for 8th unfortunately... :( We still love his posting and his LotR fanaticism!

I don't think this point holds much water, as i would be on the podium too, so i would be more Ronaldo with the additional power of a referee.

But all of this is moot, as i secretly root for Chaos Dwarfs too. :p

And this is being said on an obscure Warhammer forum primarily aimed to host discussion for one army that is middle-of-the-road in popularity, with just over 0.0001% of the world's population as its members...

Wouldn't that just diminish Ronaldo? Nobody would think he was great anymore due to the possibility of corruption (assuming that he was a referee during the course of his career as a player, and not afterwards). Even if he weren't refereeing his own games , which in our case he would be, he could never shake the suspicion.

Also, perhaps, Messi turned down the role of referee when it was offered to him ;)

Come join in on the fun!

Admittedly, middle-of-the-road in popularity is being generous. They are, and have always been, a niche/fringe army with a very small but extremely dedicated fan base. I kind of like it that way. It's kind of like the post Darth Bane sith, they may be few in numbers, but individually they are extremely powerful.

You don't give yourself enough credit. Your insights were a great contribution to the best close combat units in all of Warhammer tournament.

Are you talking about Chaos Dwarfs or Lizardmen? Because I was referring to the latter as being 'middle-of-the-road', if Warhammer II Total War and their performance in 8th Edition are anything to go by, whereas the Dawi-Zharr are, as you say, sadly a 'niche' army, even though they deserve a lot more respect from the outside world

I see, that makes sense; I misread your post. In that case, I agree with you. In regards to Lizardmen popularity, middle of the road, is an apt description.

Indeed. Those that do love them though are highly dedicated. The amount of awesome conversion work you'll find over on the Chaos Dwarf forum is impressive to say the least. Here's hoping that CA does a great job on them when they are eventually introduced into Total War Warhammer III.

In particular that they give them more units than are in Tamurkhan, because personally I can't take that list seriously given how woefully undersized it is. It looks more like a 6th Edition list than an 8th Edition one.

It is definitely a bit undersized, especially given how easily they could have expanded it through unit entries featuring slaves. A few references to units in other army books (Orc Boyz, Ogres and a human unit of some kind) and they would have had a much deeper roster for very little effort. Plus they'd be helping to further boost GW sales for those kits.

At least our core Infernal Guard give us quite a bit of variety as they can be equipped with HW&S, GW, Fireglaives or Blunderbusses. Some books like the Orcs & Goblins and Empire have separate unit entries to represent these types of options, thus making their unit selections seem more expansive. Our lord and special characters options are extremely limited though. Also, I'd love to have access to a cannon with cannon rules!

    AH, this is anecdotal time.
Years ago, when the italian team Milan ruled Europe, winning 4 champions league with Sacchi and Capello as coaches, the captain was Baresi.
He is considered one of the greatest defenders of all-time and was ranked 19th in World Soccer magazine's list of the 100 greatest players of the 20th century.
However, in those times, the owner of Milan AC was Berlusconi, and so in italy that team was always treated with great "respect" by TV, press and referees.
Back in the days, when there was an offensive action and ther was a possible offside, it was fairly common for defenders to raise their hand, as to say "Hey referee, it's offside!". of course, this had little to no effect.
Except for Baresi, in italy. At those times, when he raised his hand, you could be sure the referee would have stopped the action.
I remember a game where the referee was running behind the players, and he wasn't looking at the ball... he was looking at Baresi, waiting to see if Milan's captain would have raised his hand. It happened, and promptly the referee stopped the action for offside.

    Welcome to Italy during '90.
If Putin would the the owner of an actual football team, i suppose the treatment in russia would be similar.
Now, we were not under a dictatorship but back in time such was the power. Money talks, especially when paired with political dominance.
Still, that milan was a great team and baresi a top player.

I don't know about Italy now, but I'm sure similar stuff is happening over here in Britain. I'd be hardly surprised at all if there is at least a hint of referee bias toward filthy rich teams like the Manchester, Liverpool and wealthier London clubs (Chelsea, Arsenal e.t.c), in particular when players in those teams start diving. The commentators on BBC are definitely biased toward them and are always fawning over them to my revulsion. I'm a Southampton supporter myself, so my favourite club (which rarely gets good words from the BBC commentary teams on Saturday's Final Score) just happens to have the fortune of being in the Premier League at this point, but where Southampton and other normal football teams trade places with each other across the tables and get promoted and relegated in the way that football's always been, those Golden Boys consistently remain in the stop spots. Occasionally we get to laugh when they lose at home to a normal team, but it's rare, and I certainly don't think it's all down to a load of overpaid foreign players with nancy-boy chav-cuts, tattoos and ponytails. In a way I'm sad to see that Super League idea was scrapped, because while it was a blatant display of elitism, it would have at least pulled those wastes of space away from the normal leagues, and given all the normal teams a more level playing field. Guessing the winner of the Premier League would actually have a degree of complexity, rather than it being a choice of the same few teams all the time.

It's also extremely disconcerting how clubs that happen to have trouble with money (Rangers, Charlton Athletic and Reading are all good examples) are actively docked masses of points despite the fact that they still have a team together that can play well like everyone else.

Footy's fast becoming a crooked and Ferengi-controlled game.
