Hello boys and girls and welcome to Let's Get Motivated - January 2022

This thread is too get us motivated each month into finishing projects that we have on the go, the rules are fairly simple.

At the start of the month post what you intend to try and finish this month, it can be models/terrain/conversions of any game type. No pressure if you don't finish anything this is for motivation nothing else.

Around the middle of the month post your progress, no images please, if you have want to share your progress with images, upload them into your blog and supply a link.

Around the end of the month post your progress, again no images, if you have finished a piece upload the images into your blog and supply a link.

The reason I don't want images in this thread is too get everyone that takes part views in their personal blog where the community can critique, etc.

You don't have a paint blog? well get one started in this forum section.

If you need advice etc. post here and the community will try and answer.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone share their progress

My own goals will be the following:

- Continue and finish painting 2 Easterling Cataphracts
- Paint Easterling Warpriest
- Paint 2 horses for the Rivendell army
- Start developing new Gondor Scenery

I got started almost as soon as the date changed... :P

And it’s Ratty Roulette once again! Each month I have a list of six models from differing systems/factions, the previous month model has a 4+ chance of carrying over if not picked, if not I randomly pick a replacement. I then roll a single dice. Whatever model it lands on is perma-added to my monthly vows until it is completed...looking at you necromancer...

Anyway...

1 – Classic Queek Headtaker
2 – Samwise Gamgee
3 – Classic Banshee
4 – Frodo Baggins
5 - A Sister of Battle (painted as a random Order)
6 - Flói Stonehand

And the dice comes up as number 4. Sure I know a Baggins, Frodo Baggins!

Conversion/Green Stuff:
Morrig Crowcaller (Combining Neave Blacktalon and Knight-Azyros sprue, greenstuff hair, base conversion, adding crow from Garden of Morr as Hraak): –
Kallus Bane (Base conversion): –
Grymm Grundstock (Base conversion, top hats conversion): -

Plan is to make the base a wooden jetty/pontoon with metal dock cross bollards, green stuff rope, maybe a dinghy anchor.

First participation here.

Finish my blood bowl lizardmen team. Only 4 Saurus blocker need to be painted and 5 need to be based.

I bought a Slann on eBay. So I have to remove the colors and think about how to convert him for blood bowl coach use. And then paint again.

So I think the Slann is a project for next month.

I just totally forgot one goal:

- Write and enter a story in the short-story competition.

Goals are:

1. Get some dinosaur painting commissions.
2. Maybe buy some models.
3. Do some 12mm dice commissions.
4. Make enough money to not have to go back to work, so I can stay home with my newborn.

  1. Assemble some Chaos Dwarfs and paint at least 5 of them...
  2. If I finish goal #1, then write a Chaos Dwarf short story for the contest.

Looking forward to see what you come up with and how you paint the little dead crow on one of the Glaivewraith bases (I painted mine as a glowy ghost rather than a zombie :3 )
 
First goal is for January and February and is to paint the following for a 500pt Border Patrol list for Warhammer Armies Project:
  • Skink Chief
  • Skink Priest
  • 16x Skink Cohort with command
  • 2x Kroxigor
  • 10x Skink Skirmishers w/ Javelins & Shields
  • Salamander Hunting Pack
 
Not much of the month left ... and I've done a lot this month already... BUT

To Do
1) Airbrush base colors for my Skink Cav

Done!
2) Paint base-filler piece
3) Flock my two new base trays
4) Paint two arrow bundles and attach to my Sinoceratops howdahs.
