Hello Lustria! Hi everyone! New LM player and basically almost newbie at warhammer here. Been playng for less than a year basically, also i suck at painting but i'm trying my best! I just received my first LM army three days ago, got it for a cheap price. I then jumped on the internet and searched for lizardmen comrades, looking for tatics and suggestions, and found this beautiful site. I have a little group of warhammer friends, they are darn HE hardcore players (i was able to beat them only once or twice, i'm not too good probably at this hobby- or maybe i still haven't found the right army for me?) unfortunately we don’t get to play that much (life, women, jobs etc..) but we already had our fair number of matches. I have a big chaos warriors army (3000+) and my girlfriend has a lethal dark elves army, but i really wanted to change my style of play and experiment with tactics and armies, and since i love both jurassic park and i’m an aztec/mayan nerd, (i also studied in Mexico and studied precolumbine history) why not give the lizardmen a try? Looking forward to post and chat with u guys. Will post my army list in the appropriate section and ask you for feedback and advices. Also, english is not my first language sorry, so bear with me for any mispelling or weird sentences. Have a great sotek blessed day
On question off the top of my head... If i have to post and ask about warhammer 8th edition fantasy battles/rep, army list etc... Where do i post? All i see are sections of 9th age or AOS, do you have a section for WHFB 8?
In the fantasy: Liazrdman and Saurian ancients section. Just tag it 8th, still have a few good 8th edition conversations going.
Welcome to Jurassic Park!!! Awesome introduction! Which gaming system do you play? If I duplicate you correctly and your friends play High Elves.... Then you mean 8th edition? I empathize with not having a lot of time to play, that's me as well but having this website takes the edge off as I get to do a bunch of interaction and discussions on 8th Edition. That's AWESOME that your girlfriend has a Dark Elf army! I'm almost certain you're talking about 8th Edition now!!!! Brilliant! I think you'll find good company here. I got into Lizardmen due to my love of the first Jurassic Park movie (and Lizardmen have a dinosaur riding a T-Rex!!! What could be better than that?!?!) Either way, take a good look around the forum as there are a lot of great things here. Enjoy! (And let me and @NIGHTBRINGER know about the 8th Edition thing!)
Thanks for your warm welcoming. We are currently playing 8th edition fantasy rules! we might also try a little bit of 7th since a friend of mine is obsessed with chaos beastmen but mainly we use 8th edition rules set!
it's so nice to see that the 8th edition is still alive and well! i feel sorry that i was able to discover warhammer fantasy only in my "later" nerdy years and not in high school/middle school. Growing up I alwyas played magic the gathering, DND and other nerdy fantasy stuff, but never got into warhammer until basically the pandemic! i had some friends who used to play Whfb 6/7th edition during their high school years, and we picked up warhammer as a way to keep sane during quarantine and lockdowns (painting miniatures was like zen). Then we started playing as soon as the pandemic and our working schedule allowed us, and we kept buying new miniatures lol. Good thing is since i have a job now i can afford models and units of different armies, i wouldn't have been able to have a decent army while i was in high school. Too bad that in the adult world, having money = not having time
Everything about this is a +1 for me. Especially being able to afford armies now. And, unfortunately, not getting a lot of time to play… ah well I know what you mean about the zen of painting. Between Lustria Online and painting, it’s how I keep myself afloat hobby-wise.
As they say, better late than never! We've got lots of good 8th edition content on here, including a growing library of topics exploring all the other armies of the game
