Hi fellow lizards, I wanted some input on a FoS list I played recently in a 1000 pt 3-person Triumph and Treachery. Here is the list I used: Allegiance: Seraphon - Constellation: Fangs of Sotek - Grand Strategy: Prized Sorcery - Triumphs: Inspired Leaders Skink Starseer (145)* - General - Command Trait: Master of Star Rituals - Spell: Hand of Glory Engine of the Gods (265)* - Artefact: Serpent God Dagger - Mount Trait: Celestial Destruction - Universal Prayer Scripture: Curse Skink Starpriest (130)* - Spell: Hand of Glory Battleline 30 x Skinks (225)* - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers - Reinforced x 2 10 x Skinks (75)* - Boltspitters Celestite Daggers & Star Bucklers Units 3 x Kroxigor (150)* Core Battalions *Battle Regiment Total: 990 / 1000 Reinforced Units: 2 / 2 Allies: 0 / 200 Wounds: 73 Drops: 1 It did okay, but I haven't played Starborne much and I made some boneheaded mistakes. I didn't realize that a Starseer general will generate CCP, but it can't actually summon any units. Only Slann, Astroliths or Oracles can do that. So, no summoning for me. I lost, but just barely. The real MVP was the EotG (despite rolling a 1 for chanting rolls more than once). Just for thematic fun, I'm trying to keep the list Skink-heavy (that's not hard in current Seraphon). I'm not trying to make this a "killer list" but a bit more efficient/effective. I also don't have any Salamanders or Razors, which doesn't bother me, but it's a list-building FYI. 1. Would you swap out the Starseer for an Astrolith? If so, would you worry about making the Astrolith the general for "Old & Grizzled"? 2. Maybe drop the Starseer & Starpriest for a Slann? 3. Maybe try a Starseer, Starpriest, Oracle? I just feel like it would lose some punch. 4. Should I even lean into summoning at 1K and just stick with what I have? Anyway, I'd appreciate some input or your 1K FoS list suggestion. Thanks!
UPDATE: In addition, I just realized that I can't actually use the Serpent God Dagger on the EotG. I promise, I've read our battletome...
Congrats in your game! It seems like you need to swap the EOTG and Starseer for a Slann and Astrolith bearer, if you're looking to use an AB. If you're looking for summoning you can try give the arcane tome to the starlreiat to sacrifice another spell whilst still being able to use hand of glory
This was one of the first times I had tried a Starborne army in a game and I made some definite rookie mistakes. I'm not sure how much I want to lean into the summoning for this list. If I do, you're probably right about bringing in a Slann & AB. Man, I just hate to get rid of that EotG. It was fun to play!
Yeah with you there! The EOTG is a great unit! Of you wanted to stay Starborne you could try Drscothians tail, I think Fangs is designed for a nice unit or two of skinks blocks, with Dracothians you could maybe still have the EOTG and stay Starborne?! Or try it maybe if you're committed to Staborne, otherwise you're heading towards Thunder Lizards with your love for our EOTG?
