Nice! As an OK General, I would advise taking 3 units of Skink Skirmishers and then making your Saurus Lord a cowboy and giving him a bus. This way you can prevent Stomps and most likely get the charge on incoming Ogre Units. Ancient Stegadon with Sharpened Horns is a great idea. To be honest, OK’s is an army where the Carnosaur becomes a viable option. How about playing that? The D3 wounds will really make a big impact on his army…
I considered a carnosaur but I'm not sure if he's going to go with Ogres or Dogs of War. I am considering going with Cold One cavalry bus now that you suggested them because 1) despite having a unit, I've never fielded them before and 2) it gives me reason to finally start painting them
Hello! I think this is an interesting list, and 1500 points is an interesting points level. There's lots of compromises to fit things in! If I was you I'd make the big Skink unit into two units of 10, for a total of 4 units of 10. It'll be so much more versatile on the field. You could have one unit hosting each of your Skink Priests, and have two units for more dangerous missions harrying your enemy on the front lines. What is your plan for the formation of the Saurus? It's your most important unit in the list. Are you going to add both your Saurus characters to it, and form the resulting 32 boyes into four ranks of 8? I love your interesting Oldblood build. His blade might be very useful for fighting Ogres!!
I did write a list with the 20 strong unit split into 2 units of 10. I don't remember why I lumped the 2 together. I had a reason but I forget it at present. Might have had something to do with the possibility my friend might play Dogs of War instead. As for the Saurus unit, I was planning 5 ranks of six with the characters in it, and a 6th rank of the 2 displaced stragglers, though now you mention it I might do 4 ranks of 8 if he plays Ogres after all. And yes, I did choose the Piranha Blade with Ogres in mind, though I think it would be almost as useful against DoW. Since there is some uncertainty as to what he will field, I didn't want to tailor the list too much.
I forgot all about this. We never got around to playing as my friend's dad first was hospitalized, transferred to hospice and then passed away all within the span of January and February. As such the game was postponed indefinitely and then forgotten about.
