Contest Entry thread: The Feathered Serpent comp. (april-may)

Herewith is my first ever entry into the LO competition!

TIDE OF SERPENTS
Unbreakable.
Unspeakable.
Unsquishable.

The Prophet of Sotek, Tehenhauin of New Itza, is often at the forward guard of the battlefield. He calls forth a mighty tide of slithering and four-legged jungle creatures that litter the battlefield with poison and slow any rampaging charge to a halt. Often deployed with Uzqetek in support, a bastiladon of the deepest jungle, who carries the arcane Ark of Sotek, constantly feeding more serpents to the swarm.

(merging classic models with the newest going, this Tehenhauin is a lead finecast and the swarms are Lost Temple 3D resin prints)

I really like how vibrant you've managed to make it, without it feeling overwhelming.
That dark blue really does a lot for the model, at least to my eye that is what calms the model - really nice work :)

This was one of my first models I ever owned(not the actual model) and back when I was a kid this beat me. I couldn't build it, the paint job that it had was patchy and washed out to say the least so to finally say that I have a completed model painted to a standard I'm proud of is something I can't really put into words. :D

Great job on doing so. Great to see others have connections to particular models as well ;)

Little question: any reason why you put him on a custom base size?

Hello! Hope I'm not late to enter.
I've painted this fearsome fella in the beginning of the year to use as a Battle-Captain on Rhinosaur for Kings of War but didn't finish the base. And seeing this possibility has inspired me to do so.
While he's not exactly saurian (salamanders in KoW evolved from amphibians), the mount certainly is. And with that fancy pelt he should be savage enough to participate)

Those are some great looking paint jobs, it's gonna be a hard choice.
Sadly I didin't have the time to enter, but maby next time.
